Courtyard by Marriott Myrtle Beach Barefoot Landing

Average Courtyard experience, except that stuff went missing from our room. Housekeeping was the only one with access and did not return calls. Manager says the hotel is not responsible (that's standard in hotels), but that doesn't change the fact that housekeeping stole stuff from our room. Be careful.

First off I bought this because they touted that it was within walking distance to Barefoot Landing. There are no sidewalks on that side of the road, If there was you'd have to be suicidal to try and cross the highway. I did not measure the distance but it is probably roughly half mile give or take. When I made the reservation I requested online I requested a roll out bed as we have three kids. I even called the hotel directly to see if I would incur a charge and was told no and that it was not a problem. We arrived and entered and could immediately smell the stench of an over chlorinated cloudy pool which was barely tolerable in the pool area. A friendly guy at the desk checked us in and we went to our room. The AC did not appear to function properly. We were either hot or cold with no happy medium. I literally had to crank it onto freezing and open the patio door partially to obtain some sort of balance. As I looked the room over there was trash behind the tv stand, trash under the beds, hand prints ALL over the door, bathroom door. The glass door to the balcony was filthy, as was the mirror, and the mirrored doors to the small closet. There was something spilled on the floor of the bathroom, what looked like old gum smashed into the carpet near the beds... There was what appeared to be ketchup on the wall. I could go on and on.....I inspected the beds and they appeared to be fine. We did notice that we did not receive the roll out bed for our son in spite of requesting same. We also received THREE sets of towels. Later that day my wife went down and politely asked about getting the roll out bed up to our room and pointed out that we had reserved or asked for one when we made the reservations. She came back to the room very upset and stated that the woman at the desk was extremely rude to her and told her that we didn't get a bed and that they don't have to honor that since we didn't book directly through them. So our 14 year old son slept in the CHAIR all night. Next morning we were awakened by cleaning staff carrying on and laughing extremely LOUD in halls at 0800 even though checkout was NOON!!!!Only good thing was beds were comfortable. Should be a much cheaper HOTEL. I completed a comment card for the first time in my life and turned it into a lady at the front desk upon checking out. As it stands now I feel I am owed at the very least a partial refund for all of the valid reasons noted above.

We only stayed one night, but my head became totally conjested after entering the room and cleared up the next morning when we left. I suspect some mold/mildew in the room somewhere. Otherwise the room was clean.

The place is nice. Nothing like I though it would be for a Marriott. We were walking everywhere and this location was not that great for that. No outside pool, no bar. Nice, but we probably won't stay there again.

It was pretty good. The bed was comfortable. The staff was nice as well.

This was a quick little getaway during the winter. If you're looking for something not to extravagant, this is the place. I love the bed it was big and comfortable.

I drove to this location, because it is close to where my son is stationed. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. The room looked and smelled clean. I will come back to this location.

everything was great... perfect location and very comfortable room. Only one complaint... no frig in room.

Price was reasonable for such a short notice reservation. Staff was friendly.

The hotel was nice however, very little parking and it was very loud in the hallways in the morning.
