Wonderful trip for my daughter and I.

This is a beautiful hotel. The rooms were very clean and nicely decorated. Would have been nice to have a microwave and/or small refrigerator. Parking is not cheap $29/day. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was upgraded to one with a view of pool. Velma and Rosonda we're especially nice as well as the concerige staff. Location is perfect walking distance from restaurants and shopping. We loved it and would definitely stay here again.

The Mills House was a faboulos place to stay for our vacation! It was in the center of town close and convenient to many tourist attractions where we could walk in any direction and find something of interest. The staff was friendly and accomodating. Great Getaway

Me and my husband actually arrived 2-3 hours before check in time. The person at the desk immediately told us that we had a room waiting on us. That was great! When we came up to the room, which was overlooking the pool, was a nice, clean, and spacious. The bathroom counter was big enough to put all my stuff on. The only thing about the room is the tv was about an old style. The one aspect of the hotel that made this a 4 was that there was only a public parking deck next door that cost $20 a day. That was outrageous! The hotel is surrounded my nice restaurants and specialty shops, as well as name brand shops as Forever 21 and Nine West. If you needed to drive to any of the locations here within the hotel, it was hard to find parking spaces. Walking is the way to go. There is, however, are taxi drivers that are on bicycles and buses. For a tour of the historic district, you can take a horse and buggy tour. That is great! Walking haunted tours is also another fun activity. Not far from historic Charleston is Folly Beach which is gorgeous! Also, if you get a chance, take a dinner cruise of boat ride to Fort Sumter if you don't want stay in town. Overall, it was a good trip.

Never again

Never again will I stay at this hotel. I didnt realize that this hotel was so old. The bathrooms are so small only 1 person can fit in it at a time. My husband and I had to take turns. We stayed in a suite which was in the back of the hotel on the 4th floor and a garbge truck came twice about 5am making terrible noises picking up the huge metal garbage containers. Then, next door to the hotel they have construction going on and there are guys out there talking and using equipment as early as 5:30am. I complained to the managers and I ALL I got was "it's not our fault" and the manager named [...]was so rude about it that I vowed never to return. The restaurant in the hotel was empty every nite and we ate there 1 nite and the food was awful!I was talking to some of the employees and they say there is a lot of problems going on and the employees are disgruntled about the way things are being handled. The employee gave my husband and I a delicious bottle of wine and a fruit and cheese tray when she heard about the terrible customer service we recieved which was so nice of her. The location was excellent but the parking was just too expensive. It's not a flat rate fee of 20.00 each day so each time you leave the lot you have to pay. We spent 100.00 for 4 nites at the hotel for parking. I know I can find a better looking, better quality and better parking in Charleston and I will never ever go back to this hotel.
