Business Trip
Overall the experience was good. It was convenient to stay in the area for me. However, parking was not convenient. It was difficult to park in the front of the hotel even to get your vehicle valet. The hotel was very clean and the staff was very polite. I needed to stay another night however, their rates went up tremendously after my first night stay.

The place to stay if you love the historic downtown
A reminder of the old prosperity and elegance. A positive continuum between the old city and the place of rest at the end of the day. Don't anticipate disappointment!!

Location, Location, Location
Overall, this hotel offered perhaps the best location to stay in downtown Charleston. It was in easy walking distance to everything and had a parking garage behind it which can't be said for all the hotels. It had free Wifi and darn good cell reception within the building which isn't always common anymore. Didn't have any issues and would recommend staying there if you've never been to downtown Charleston. If the beds were a little more comfy I'd put the value at a 5. Although, not bad.

Sightseeing tip:
Short walk from hotel
Take the carriage tour of the downtown right when you get there (starts near the old slave market on Market St.) so you can get your bearings as to where everything is located for the rest of your stay.

The Charleston Experience
The hotel and amenities were fine, but the best thing about it is its location. It's within a 10-minute walk of many great restaurants, all kinds of shopping, the Market and much more. If you're a walker, lots of interesting old neighborhood streets close by. The price was quite reasonable compared to other hotels in the immediate area. It's owned by Holiday Inn, but has a very different "feel" to it and there are no Holiday Inn signs or logos to be seen.

Great Hotel, Great Vacation
The location of this hotel is great. It's very close to all the downtown tourist attractions as well as fine dining restaurants. The pool is a great ammenity to this hotel especially during the humid Charleston summers. Noone likes paying $20 a night, but if you are staying in historic downtown Charleston, that should be expected at any hotel.

Great location if you plan on seeing the sights.
The staff was polite, aside from rushing me off the phone when I called before my arrival. It had the ambiance of Charleston in the lobby but the room felt a tad dated. Maybe it was because it was so small. My husband, 10 year old, and myself were in each others way a good bit while getting ready but both had a good view of the tv from the bed. It was nice and clean and within walking distance from most things, including Battery Park. The breakfast was very good and our server was pleasant. You are definitely paying for the location though, because my first thought when I saw the room was "I thought it would be nicer".

Great location
We chose this hotel for the price and location in Charleston. It was within walking distance of most of the locations we wanted to visit. The hotel staff seemed courteous. Room was roomy enough, although the toilet was a bit cranky at times and the balcony overlooked a parking lot. There was also a smell of gas in the lobby, although you couldn't detect it on the upper floors. Overall, a good place to stay.
