My review of The Harbour View Inn

The staff though pleasant were slow and often confused. Valet parking was the only option and they too were often very slow at retrieving and or parking the car. That being said the room itself was very clean the bed comfortable and the location wonderful. They have no restaurants and very few amenities but it is an inn and great for couples looking for a romantic getaway.

Great Experience

This hotel was great. First off this hotel is in a great location for everything downtown charleston. Within a couple of blocks to the market, resteraunts, shopping, and right across the street from the downtown park and fountains. The staff was great and extremely helpful. example: We pulled in a little early and the bellman/valet said it was no problem to park there until the room was ready so we could enjoy downtown without having to fight for a parking space. Furthermore he called the front desk and found out our room was indeed ready so we went up to check in. After checking in we go to see our room and about 5 min's later the bellman has unloaded our luggage from the car and brought it to us. The breakfast in the mornings were great and I recommend eating it up on the roof. The room size was very large for the price and extremely comfortable. This Hotel was outstanding in every way. We will definately be staying here again.

Excellent location in Historic Charleston

Excellent location near Battery Park, overlooking fountain. Walking distance to numerous excellent restaurants. Menus for area restaurants on display in lobby for your review. Wine and cheese tea served during afternoon for hotel guests and cookies served early evening. We walked along pier after dinner one evening and enjoying swinging on porch swing along covered pier overlooking the harbor. Breakfast is served delivered to your room or to rooftop balcony. We also appreciate the free wireless internet access throughout the hotel.

Definitely worth a visit

HArbour View Inn, Charleston SC is a wonderful hotel located close to shopping and restaurants. The staff is extremely helpful and pleasant. The room was hugh (we have stayed at other hotel in Charleston and most of them are tiny with little room to move)The afternoon wine and cheese reception is a great way to meet other guests, and the continential breakfast, which you can have served in your room or relax in the lounge, is wonderful. Warm pasteries, fruit and delicious coffee. We will definitely be staying the next time we visit Charleston. Extremely convenient with shopping, tours and wonderful restaurants within short walking distance.

Love this Hotel!

We absolutely LOVED our stay at the Harbour View Inn. From the moment we checked in the hotel staff was amazing. The staff is very service oriented. Every need was met quickly and courteously. Everything was exactly as the hotel advertised. The room was large with fine furnishings (we even had a gas fireplace in our room!) and a whirlpool tub in the bathroom. The bed was a tempur-pedic mattress with fine linens. The towels and amenities were first-class. Breakfast was great and served in our room at the time we requested. Downtown Charleston, the Marketplace, dining, shopping and tours were within a two-block walk. The harbor and a beautiful park with water fountain were right outside our door! Hotel is in a very safe area. This hotel is well worth the money!

Very attractive and most certainly clean and comfortable accommodation.

The only drawback for a fitness conscious traveller that I am, is that, this hotel did not have a fitness center. Inspite of the fact that there are no resturants on site, the hospitality of the staff, cleanliness and overall attractiveness of the facility more than compensated for the lack thereof. Oh, the definitive comfortableness of the bed and pillows further enhanced my positive experience. Also, one of the front desk staff is the perfect compliment to the front desk experience. Hope he's duty when you visit! He was always very friendly and helpful answering my numerous questions and need for assistance finding the best places to eat and see. Harbour View you are fortunate to have such a super personality at the front desk! Yes, I highly recommend this hotel to any one visiting Charleston! Oh, its location to both points of interests and the water are added pluses.
