La Quinta Inn Charleston North

Where should I start.... I was in town for a Wedding so I reserved a Non-Smoking room and "none were available" so I got stuck in a disgusting smoking room. The whole room reeked of smoke and now so do my belongings. The linens (especially the curtains) were dirty/stained when we got there. There was NO parking by the end of the day. The Wi-Fi didn't work half of the time, and yes, they have new HD TVs...with 20 channels. The toilets were dirty and stained and the shower water was inconsistent--one minute it was ice cold, the next it was scorching hot. When I originally booked the room there was a picture of a gym and when I go there, no gym existed. Yes you get free continental breakfast, but its only available until 9am (10am on weekends), I would suggest keeping open til 10/10:30 like most places (11am on weekends). The pictures of this place are very misleading. I would say the only "positive" part is it is located on Ashley Phosphate--RIGHT on the highway and you couldn't really hear traffic from the room. The location was the only nice/convenient thing about my stay, because rt 26 was right there so I could easily get to the beach, downtown Charleston, Summerville, the Navy Base etc. However, there were also about 10 other hotels that looked much nicer (and cheaper) within that same block. Overall, I was extremely unsatisfied with my stay here and from other signs I saw advertised, I could've stayed elsewhere and been much happier for the same price or cheaper...

It is located right off the highway so easy to find and really not that far from downtown Charleston and way less expensive.

This was a surprise get away for the day for the guy I am dating & worked out perfectly. He loved the surprise I had set up for him when he walked in the door! From the time I walked in the front lobby door I was greeted with a smile & the lady who checked me in was as nice as she can be. This was my first time staying at this hotel but I will surly plan to stay here again as long as their prices stay reasonable. I am a local but I also live on the west coast so when I am home I like to stay somewhere close to shopping and where I am planning to party with my friends. I can appreciate when I go back to the same hotel and they accommodate me with the "regulars" prices. I enjoyed my stay at this hotel it was easy checking in and the room was nice. I have never stayed at any of the La Quinta Hotels here in Charleston before but I liked it and will def. stay again. This hotel is within walking distance to the North woods mall and many restaurants! Enjoy your stay cause I did mine! Get out to Charleston & get your vacation on! This hotel was safe and very convenient to food shopping and a nice movie theater.

The hotel staff were friendly, attentive and helpful. Although the room was outdated, the bed was spacious and comfortable. There was a bit of an odor in the room, possibly of cigarettes however it was tolerable since we were gone sightseeing all day. All in all the hotel stay was fine for the cost.

Everything was clean. Reasonably priced considering ... Room was larger than most which is helpful with kids.

Everything went well, except according to the lady at the front desk , my online travel agent did not ask them for a king room even tho my paperwork said a 'king'. Had so switch rooms. but the staff was real nice and giving me my king.

we wanted a king or queen.........got two doubles and they wouldn't move us. The bedding was new and nice but would have liked a king

Pretty good for the amount paid. Not heavy on the pocket. The breakfast options were limited.

This is an inexpensive hotel close to the airport. The room was clean and adequate for an overnight stay. Staff was nice. No complaints, it was great based on what we paid for it. We just needed a place to sleep.

We enjoyed our one night stay. Great value for the price.
