La Quinta Inn & Suites Charleston Riverview

The staff were a bit slow with service, and didn't seem to really care about the guests needs as much as other hotels I have stayed in. The cleanliness overall was fine, but there was something very gross in our toilet. The hotel is very close to downtown Charleston, but the shuttle service provided was more expensive than just calling a cab, and only ran on certain hours. Overall the stay was fine, and I would maybe stay again if we came back to Charleston.

Overall the room was in need of an upgrade. Our room was not cleaned nor was the bed made the 2nd day altho someone came in and took our two bath towels. When we arrived there were no bath towels and the tray for the coffee maker was missing. The walls are thin and we heard neigbors all evening. The location is convenient but very difficult to get to, especially coming from old towne. Mickey

Check in clerk, seemed very not interested in a guest checking in, set a bad tone for our stay. Bed was terrible. Breakfast was not a pleasant experience, too many people at one time, tables not cleaned. Will not go back.

While the front staff was courteous, the bathroom was gross. Our room needed updating. The a/c unit was old, furniture did not match, and there was no fan in the bathroom. I believe the housekeeping is overworked. We were missing things in our bathroom and there was black hair on the bathroom floor (the coffee maker was also located in there-yuck). The oatmeal was good, otherwise the breakfast left something to be desired. It is a pet friendly hotel- be advised. Also there were some sketchy people in the hotel. Close to downtown, great location, La Quinta needs to revamp hotel and management. Will be staying at spring hill suites next time.

From the moment we arrived at La quinta we were treated with respect and kindness. The staff was nothing but genuinely nice and very approachable. They were helpful with any questions about the area and aided us in finding shuttles to and from downtown and also finding us a cab to the hotel once the trip was over. This was my first stay in La Quinta and I definitely reccomend it to anyone interested in a wonderful relaxing vacation.

This was our first visit to Charleston and we were looking for something close to downtown without the downtown hotel prices. I read about this hotel online and noticed that they offered a shuttle for a reasonable fee, which ended up to be well worth it considering how busy the streets are and the price of parking - if you can find it. Speaking of parking - it was included and I was pleased to find that althought the hotel was booked full that weekend, there was still parking available close to the building. We found the hotel staff was very friendly and the room and continental breakfast to be pretty standard - no complaints.

1. It not exactly in what I'd call the historic district. 2 It accepts dogs... ever had a room with dogs yapping all around you? At least 2 diff. offenders. Calls to the desk received little interest. Finally they sent some one to check... and that person couldn't hear the yaps ! 3. Their cleaning staff needs help. Obvious dirt and grime on the edges of rooms, in the elevator etc. 4. Did I mention that I didn't get a king room as you said I would? Woman at ck in said I ordered reg. beds... didn't have my laptop there so couldn't check... later opened the laptop and saw I was supposed to have king bed. Too late to move then, my wife was tired and in the bathtub. I think this room was overpriced and based on service I am very disappointed in La Quiinta and your rating.

This hotel is in dire need of a renovation. Their elevators, room furnishings, and flooring were all very worn and tired. They also seemed to skimp on the quality and number of towels offered in the bathroom. I did appreciate how the A/C didn't loudly cut on and off...the compressor quietly turned on and off, while the fan remained constant...and the fact that they offered hard-boiled eggs at breakfast. The view of the marina was pretty neat, too!

We stayed here one night. The hotel is very close to historic Charleston (5-7 minutes by car) and has a nice view of the marina. Our room was not in the main building (the one where the reception is) and had more of a "motel" look and feel to it since you were entering the room directly form the parking/outside.
