Weekend Stay
The room and the location were great. However, the food on the top floor restaurant was just poor and the staff was not eager to please.

Pleasant and enjoyable long weekend
Hotel and staff were excellent. Room was clean and very comfortable. Only problem with the hotel is the location. It's between the major highways into and out of Charleston's downtown and historic area. The very busy and fast moving one way traffic on both sides of the hotel makes it difficult to both exit and enter the hotel parking lot safely. Also, a GPS system is the best option for finding your way anywhere from the hotel.

The restaurant on the top floor of the hotel has good food at reasonable prices but the best part is the spectacular views either during the day or at night.

The Good, No Bad
The only item missing in our room was the shower cap! The water was hot, the air was cool and the view was nice. This location is close to the Battery area, 5 minutes tops. We drove to the Battery, parked the car and walked to the market area, shopped, ate and walked back to the car - saw the sunset. We had a wonderful, affordable time.

The Good, the Average, the Why?
The hotel staff was great. They answered all questions and provided directions to locations that we wanted to visit. The rooms were clean, but be advised at least our room did not have a refrigerator. The restaurant was average and over priced. Take advantage of the local restaurants, they were better and more cost efficient. The really BAD is do not waste your money on paying for a room with a view. They have spot lights on the hotel all night and they shine into the rooms; so it blinds the view. Also the doors are locked to the balcony.

quite nice
Great views close to downtown Charleston at an affordable price. Room was nice and clean, hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Getting in and out of the parking lot is a little bit tricky since the hotel is located in between 2 lanes of a busy highway. The rooms are relatively quiet though and the views from the rooftop restaurant and the upper floor rooms are splendid.

Good hotel for the price
The view was great! The hotel is between 2 busy roads so road noise was heard from the 11h floor, but definitely not an issue. The front desk staff was very friendly. The restaurant has an amazing view but the food is sub-par. I recommend getting a sandwich or burger. All people in my group got entrees between $16 and $25 and was not worth the money. I recommend going to the restaurant for good service and an amazing view but get a sandwich!! There are much better restaurants in Charleston. We went to Vickery's on Shem Creek and had some great seafood. One thing to note that I wasn't aware of was that the sliding doors to the balcony are permanently closed and you can't open the door. Room service breakfast was good.

Friendly Staff
You can't beat the price. It's a short drive to downtown and they offer a free shuttle service that runs until 9:30. I wish the balconies opened because the view is great if you have the right room.

Beautiful views
Charleston is a great walking city. Beautiful old homes. Ballast stone streets. A carriage ride is the perfect way to see the city. The guides are very informative and entertaining. There are great resturants, and everyone is very friendly. The hotel offers free shuttle to downtown but the trip from the airport costs around $28. The lobby is small and cozy. The staff was friendly and helpful.
