Weekend Away

Great location on King Street and beautiful historic charm. With the charm came a small bathroom which was understandable for a hotel built almost one hundred years ago.

Great spot to take in Charleston

This hotel in right in the middle of everything. My wife and I were able to walk everywhere from Hominy Grill to historical Charleston - Rainbow Row. The staff is fantastically friendly, and, if you happen to be there on Saturday morning, there's a farmers market across the street that made us wish we had planned better to be able to take more stuff home. Oh well, til next time...

Long weekend stay

Generally good service, nice staff and convenient location. The elevator is extremely slow. If your room is at a lower floor, it would be a good idea to walk the stairs.

Hotel Needs update or better cleaning

This gorgeous hotel is located downtown in the middle of everything, great restaurants ( please try Virginia's for lunch or Joe's Pasta- awesome Caesar salad but the pasta was absolutely fantastic. Seasoning is amazing as long as you can handle a garlic after taste. If you drive to Shem creek, sunset is gorgeous! From hotel you have easy walk to many sites. Right by museums and visitor center. (By the way, watch out! The visitor center will offer you these free tickets if you go watch a 90 min presentation for time share!!! Don't waist your time!!!! It's not worth it!!!! They held us for over 2 hours!!!!) The room was nice but tiny bathroom. Toilete needs serious cleaning. Nice staff. Great breakfast at swamp fox restaurant at hotel Three elevators but the day we were leaving two were broken and third one acting up..., scary!!!!! So we will probably try another hotel if we ever go back.

Please go see Middleton and Boone plantations no matter what! Better time should be in spring when azaleas are blooming. Breathtaking yards! Avoid summer. You will feel miserable!!!!

20th anniversary

Great hotel. Friendly staff. I let them know I would be there for my 20th anniversary and asked for a room with a view. Well Ms. Ross went above and beyond. We got a room with a great view of the park and USS Yorktown in the distance. There was chocolate coverd strawberries and a card congratulating us waiting in our room. Thank you!
