Enjoyable vacation

Enjoyed the hotel. It was very comfortable. We stayed because of the historic background. Would have liked more pictures from before renovation. The staff were very helpful. The permanent breakfast set up was a distraction to the beauty of this hotel. Breakfast in the dinning area was much better than in the Great Room. The trolley stops outside, but it is unreliable. Plan to walk. Close restaurnts on King Street were excellent. Saturday farmers market out front was a pleasant surprise.

Just ordinary

The building is very cool but the hotel is a little out of the mainstream restaurant and historical area. The breakfast room was very sloppy with not enough tables. The rooms were not the cleanest. I have been to better Embassy Suites than this location

Week-end away

The people were terrific...the room odd with gun sights for windows. The bed needs a new mattress...sagged in the center. Great location in the historic district, nice restaurants nearby. US Air left a lot to be desired. had to carry our carry- on bags up and down flights of stairs at LaGuardia, no one offered to help.

Take the boat trip to Ft. Sumter...the trip to the Magnolia plantation was very interesting. It would be nice if they gave credit to the people who made the huge wealth possible there and in the rest of Charleston.

A taste of the old South!

We loved staying at the Embassy suites, rooms were very clean and the beds were so comfortable with pillow tops! We had a 2 room suite for the price of a regular hotel room. The Atrium is beautiful. Free breakfast was a bonus and very good! The history of the place is amazing go up to Level M in the elevators and look at all the old photos of when it was the Citadel Military Academy. The pool is small but it was never crowded, (kids were back in school) so I had it pretty much to myself. Location is right near the visitors center, and shopping & dining on King street!

Take the Pedicabs to get to the Battery and Market area, faster then regular taxi's which you almost never never see on the peninsula and very reliable!

Nice hotel in downtown Charleston

We arrived early, and they allowed us to check in anyway. We even got a handicap room, which is larger! The breakfast was better than most complimentary breakfasts. They made cooked to order omelets, which was a nice touch. The valet was a good deal, since you could come and go as many times as you like. I didn't want to walk in the heat to and from the public lot. The staff was probably the best part. They were very accommodating. Overall, It was a great experience.
