another good experience
I had another good experience with this hotel. Valet parking is priced competitively for the historic district. It is in a great location. No free continental breakfast and some rooms have you looking out your window at a brick wall, but being this close to the market was amazing.

Girls Charleston Getaway
Excellent. The entire Staff was the best I have experienced. Friendly, accommodating, went the extra step. Cannot beat the location. Everything was within walking distance. Only recommendation would have been to have had 2 Queen size beds in suite, rather than full-size. Other than that, no complaints!

Fantastic location
Rooms to small for a family. Limited closet space. Bathroom was so tiny that you did not have room to dry off after getting out of shower. Hot water was on a timer, so had to wash my hair in cold water. The room advertized that a micowave was in the room. The Micowave was located on the next floor. Had to take breakfast down to the next floor in my pjs to warm. The dining room did not open early enough each morning to get coffee. Would not recommend for a family because of the size of the bedroom, bath and lack of kitchen facilities. The staff, however, was very nice and helpful. You cannot beat the location. Within steps of major restaurants and shopping.

Great location for a girls weekend
Double tree is in the IDEAL location. A few friends went down to Charleston for the weekend. Our 1 room suites were all two stories, which though still a small footprint, enabled us to spread out a bit. The hotel is right in the center of all the stores and shopping. It was great.

Good experience
Hotel was a good size for my family trip. We were traveling with an infant and i was slightly reluctanct to take my baby to a hotel. It definitely helped to have two separate rooms and they supplied a crib which was nice. Rooms were pretty average. It was great that there was a mini fridge. The room service menu was a little pricey, but i guess that is to be expected. THere is however a dunkin donuts and other small cafes right on the block so that wasn't such a big deal. There was also a Harris Teeter grocery store about three blocks away. The location was perfect, if you are looking for a downtown location you can't do much better. Ate at Hymans and it was factastic. And Wild Wings is one of my absolute favorite place to eat in Charleston-awesome wings great price. Having been a previous local in Charleston I really only visited one or two of my favorite bars, Tommy Condons is great.

The best of all worlds!
Outstanding service, exceptionally clean, great location. The only downside was our suite's layout--beds and bath on second level "loft"--very congested lavatory and shower/toilet room area, and little space to set suitcases out. Seemed like we were always running up or down the stairs for something. Otherwise, couldn't have been nicer. Worth the price.

Sightseeing tip:
Long walk from hotel
We enjoyed walking in beautful weather, but could always take a pedicab (bike drawn carriage) for longer trips. Parking very limited so used valet parking. Great restaurants within a few blocks of hotel.

Great Location
Great location, its exactly where you want to be. The price reflects location primarily. The actual rooms were OK, but not worth the price. The staff was excellent and were very helpful and courteous.
