Great overnight stay in Charleston

We were just in town for the night so wanted a good location at a reasonable price. The room was clean and spacious and right in the centre of where we wanted to be. Overall it was great although one of the staff was a little unhelpful when we asked about leaving our car in the carpark.

Great location for a budget price!

If you are looking for a place to stay, in a great location, for a budget price, this hotel meets those needs. It has few amenities, but the location in Historic Downtown Charleston can not be beat. Room doors open to the outside and on the morning of day 3 I had to wait about 5 minutes for hot water from the shower. Open lot parking is also available.

Overnight business stay

I had to travel to Charleston for business and we wanted a hotel convenient to MUSC as well as the historic district. The Days Inn fit that parameter. That is about the only positive I can offer however. The room was "dated" and not well maintained. The coffe maker had not been emptied and cleaned as there was an ounce or so of coffee left in the carafe. My wife was not happy with the cleanlyness of the bath area, specifically the vanity. Also, the room was poorly lighted and the selection of TV channels was poor (no local channel for news & weather) Finally, the pillows and mattress were horrible. It seemed as if the mattress was on a platform, not a boxspring, and it was lumpy and worn out. We both had backaches in the AM. ***An answer is required for the question below: "To what tpye of traveler would you reccommend this hotel?" I would NOT reccommend it to anyone!!! So the answer provided is NOTTRUE, but provided merely to satisfy the program.

Great location and affordable!!!

This location is very good that we highly recommend people who visit Charleston should stay here. It's in the old downtown and only one block away from the old market and some famous seafood restaurants. You don't really need to drive to the tour sites. there are free trolleys comes very 15 minutes can take you to the sites in downtown. Although the facilities is not that new, it's still very affordable to stay here.

Perfect for budget travelers

After reading other reviews, we were hesitant to book this hotel. However, the perfect location and amazing price lured us in. We were so happy we took the plunge. We arrived at noon on Thanksgiving day and figured that we wouldn't be able to get into the hotel until much later. However, the very sweet gal at the front desk allowed us to check in right away. Later, we went back several times to ask questions, and she went out of her way to help us (wish I would have gotten her name--she was there both days). We scored a parking space (free!) right in front of our room and never moved our car for the duration of our stay. Okay, the room itself was merely adequate. But, it was clean and had a coffee maker, microwave, safe and refrigerator. We noticed that other reviews said the hotel was loud and had a "party atmosphere" but that wasn't our experience. We felt very comfortable with our three year old there. Finally, it should be noted that the very best thing about this hotel is the location. We were in the very heart of Charleston, within walking distance of just about everything for right around $100 a night.

Dining tip: In Hotel

The restaurant "Toast" in front of the hotel has good local flavor, reasonable prices and good food.
