Perfect for budget travelers

After reading other reviews, we were hesitant to book this hotel. However, the perfect location and amazing price lured us in. We were so happy we took the plunge. We arrived at noon on Thanksgiving day and figured that we wouldn't be able to get into the hotel until much later. However, the very sweet gal at the front desk allowed us to check in right away. Later, we went back several times to ask questions, and she went out of her way to help us (wish I would have gotten her name--she was there both days). We scored a parking space (free!) right in front of our room and never moved our car for the duration of our stay. Okay, the room itself was merely adequate. But, it was clean and had a coffee maker, microwave, safe and refrigerator. We noticed that other reviews said the hotel was loud and had a "party atmosphere" but that wasn't our experience. We felt very comfortable with our three year old there. Finally, it should be noted that the very best thing about this hotel is the location. We were in the very heart of Charleston, within walking distance of just about everything for right around $100 a night.

Perfect Location...

This was our first visit to Charleston -- there were 7 of us headed to a wedding in Hilton Head and decided to stop in Charleston for a couple of days to see and eat our way through the city. The hotel was perfectly located...walking distance to everything. It had free parking and wifi, which is all we really needed, other than a place to sleep. Other than location, the hotel was pretty ordinary, but as expected for the price. The value was pretty solid and we would stay here again due to the amazing location. Nothing particularly wrong/bad with the hotel, just your average Days Inn.

perfect location

The location was perfect, right near the city market and many restaurants. Rooms were comfortable, though the decor could use updating, especially the bathroom. The city transportation system was visitor friendly, free trolleys around town, a $3.00 express bus from the airport to the visitor center. All in walking distance from the hotel. A great walking city from the hotel location.

Wonderful excape

The Hotel was great. We stayed on the first floor close to the lobby. For us it was good. We did not have a car, so liked the Toast restaurant that was attached to the Hotel. The free trolley was a block away, as well as the Market Place. It was just blocks from the water. The tourist center was a trolley ride away. Everyone was very helpful. I loved my trip. I would go again.

Perfect Location and Free Parking

Our experience at the Days Inn in Historic Charleston was fabulous. It is located where you can walk anywhere in the Historic District, eliminating the need to look for parking. It was very clean and the staff was great. The Toast Restaurant on the premises was also great. The crab cakes and She Crab Soup were wonderful!

GREAT Location and Price!

Went to Charleston for a weekend trip and stayed here. Location is PRIME. Within walking (or biking) distance to Waterfront Park, Battery Park, City Market etc. The breakfast place next door (Toast) is phenomenal, and the pool definetely was refreshing in that southern heat! Very friendly staff!
