Weekend getaway
A friend and I traveled to Charleston for the weekend. We took the noon ferry to Fort Sumter and then went to the beach at Isle of Palms. After we left the beach, we headed to the Days Inn in downtown Charleston to clean up before a big night out on the town. The hotel was in a great location near some of the local restaurants and bars.

Short walk from hotel
A.W. Schucks was a great seafood restaurant near the hotel. The food was really good, but it was over priced for small portions.

Great Location!
We have been staying at this hotel for years with a very large group of friends for Southeastern Wildlife. First let me say if you are looking for a 5 star hotel this isn't for you. It is an older hotel with basic rooms that provide everything you need. The location and the parking are the number 1 reasons we stay here. The rooms are always clean and the staff is always very accomodating to our group. It is convenient to everything in the historic district. A good place to lay your head when you aren't out having fun!

Location is outstanding.
Only problem was the drain, light and toilet (which kept running) in the bathroom.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
Next to Day's Inn, was Toast, a cafe we frequented often for breakfast, lunch, dessert, or snack. It was like our own kitchen with the friendly staff.

Location
The only thing this hotel has going for it is location. The bed had trash under it, the faucet in the shower had a leak. The swimming pool was cloudy and had a layer of oil floating at the top. If the parking lot is full which is most often the case you have to go down the street to a parking garage. The location is wonderful and close to everything.

Unhappy hotel goer
Spoleto Weekend
This was a horrible hotel experience for the money. They had us in a smoking room and no other rooms were available. Since the room was on the ground level we could not get any fresh air in the room. The wall paper was peeling in the bathroom and the outlet in the main room was so overloaded it was a fire hazard. For the price of the room I expected something better than bad motel type conditions. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. The best thing about this hotel was the location in historic Charleston.
