Its a hotel, great location
The best thing about this hotel is its location. The amenities are adequate, the price is good but what really makes this a place to consider is that it is so central in the historic district. Many restaurants and attractions are very close. Its not the 4 Seasons, but its not trying to be.

Needs some love
Hotel only had smoking rooms to offer. Carpet is worn and tearing in places, broken tile and sloppy caulk in the bathroom. Aged TV and appliances.

great for the price
The room was clean although saw couple roaches in bathroom. Now the staff needs a little more training in how to behave .I rarely got a smile from anyone when saying goodmorning. It wouldn't keep me from staying here again BUT,they should acknowedge there guests and greet them with a smile at all times. It's the hospitality business people.Fake it if you have to! Location was excellent! Loved watching the bats drink from the pool! Also, was suprised none of the staff new where a bike rental place was.None of them! I found it on my own. They need to know things like this!

Late reserving a room
Typical two star
This hotel is a typical two-star hotel. The blanket and bedspread were not clean and the front desk staff was not professional, but the location in Charleston is hard to beat. I stayed there when I was in town for the Cooper River Bridge Run. The room was not worth the exorbitant price I had to pay for the one night, but I understand how the law of supply and demand works on race weekend.

Cheap Charleston
Old school motel that's pretty run down, but location can't be beat, and in Charleston everything else around it goes for double. You get what you pay for here, and I wouldn't call it a "value", but if you're looking to minimize cost in Charleston, this is where to do it.

Superb Value
The hotel was a great value--located right in the middle of the Charleston historic district, with a comfortable room and free parking, all at a decent price. If you are looking to make a short trip to Charleston and want to use the hotel just to rest--and why would you come to Charleston just to spend the visit in the hotel?--this is an excellent option.

The restaurant in the same building as the hotel is quite good, not expensive, but the lines in the morning are very long.

My Charleston Adventure
Charleston was wonderful. The hotel is a great bargain, within walking distance of many restaurants and historic sites. The only issue that I had was parking. If you're not back at the hotel by 3:00 pm, you will have a difficult time finding a parking space in the hotels lot. You will then have to drive down 1 block, turn left into a parking garage and leave your car. The hotel reimburses your parking fee, but depending on your situation I was not happy about this.

Don't miss the market, or the carriage ride. If you can it's fun to pop in and out of all the shops along the way. The people are nice.

Old Convenience
Great location. Great staff. Parking is a problem as after returning from dinner we had to use public parking. We were reimbursed but it's still an inconvenience. Toast's restaurant is on site and we had a delicious breakfast there. Overall, it's an older Day's Inn in a great location!

Great Location....but thats about it
Great Location. Walking distance to anything of interest in Charleston downtown. They also have free parking, which is a big plus, since you have to pay for everywhere else. Other than that there is nothing else spectacular about the place. However, if you are in downtown Charleston as a tourist, and don't care that much about amenities since you will not be in your room much, then this place is a great value mainly because of the location.
