Weekend in Charleston

Great classic hotel. Excellent location within walking distance of most attractions. Hotel room was modern and very clean. Hotel staff was very accomodating. When we arrived early our room was ready, however we requested a king bed and found two twins. No problem....called front desk and we were immediately transferred to a room with a king bed. Great restaurants and shopping within the hotel proper. There is a parking garage adjacent to the hotel with discounted rates for hotel guests. Only one very minor negative. No coffee maker in the room. Certainly not a deal maker!

Will never stay anywhere else in Charleston!

We've been to Charleston several times and have stayed in many different hotels/inns. Now that we've experienced the Belmond Charleston Place, we'll never stay anywhere else! Beautifully appointed rooms, immaculately clean, amazing bathrooms/spa shower. Staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. We showed up early and tried our chances at an early check-in and they were able to accommodate us without any trouble. Centrally located in downtown, wonderful food and beverage outlets, amazing rooms - truly worth the money!!

5-Star Price - 3.5 Star Hotel

We paid a fortune for 4 nights at this hotel ($550 per inc. tax) and it's not worth it despite the great location. Rooms are average size, albeit nice and recently updated, and we were on the 5th floor with a great view of the . . . roof. No coffee in the room either. I wouldn't pay more than $350 per night at the very very most.

Vacation trip

Six day enjoyable stay. Friendly staff, clean room in club level, satisfing breakfast, good view from 8th floor, Karl Erbes riesling wine in the evening while sharing a slice of cheese cake. Charleston Place is within walking distance of most every thing we wanted to see and we did not need a taxi ( tour bus to plantation, water taxi to York Town). We will make this hotel our first choice for Charleston. seniors from Iowa
