The Conwell Inn is a smoke-free pet-friendly boutique hotel with the charm and feel of a European bed and breakfast. The Inn is located in the heart of beautiful and historic Temple University founded in 1888. Each of our 22 designer rooms are unique and reflect the charm ambiance and history of the nineteenth century brick and mortar town homes that now house the hotel. Typical architectural features include floor to ceiling bay windows original moldings and high or arched ceilings. Views of ivy covered gothic buildings and multi-cultural campus life abound from every guest room window. Design features include custom made bedspreads and matching privacy draperies and valances high end mattresses solid cherry wood furniture and plushly upholstered chairs. Modern conveniences include a 24 hour front desk wireless high speed internet throughout the hotel individual coffee makers irons and ironing boards hairdryers and large TVs with premium cable channels including 4 ESPN and 4 HBO channels. A business desk with a computer printer and fax machine is available in the lobby. Amenities include a filling hot and cold complimentary breakfast featuring make-your-own Belgian waffles and afternoon refreshments of either homemade cookies and tea or wine and cheese. The Conwell Inn is less than 10 minutes by car cab or subway to all of Philadelphias major attractions including Independence Hall The Liberty Bell The National Constitution Center Center City shopping The Pennsylvania Convention Center The Philadelphia Art Museum and the Philadelphia Zoo.

Visiting my son at Temple

I love this hotel. I've stayed here several times. It is quaint. The continental breakfast in the morning is very nice. The staff is so helpful and friendly. The rooms are nicely decorated. Its on campus so for visiting students, its the best. Parking is reasonably priced.

Campus location but with some flaws

Great on campus location and the rooms are large with comfortable beds. However, there are serious considerations and drawbacks - - Very difficult to find this place, it is accessed by driving down a long alley with no signage helping to guide you. - Don't count on close parking. There are a sum total of 8 parking spaces for a 80+ room hotel. Overflow must park several blocks away at a difficult to find parking garage. Construction projects and one way streets make finding this garage at night a 30 minute odyssey. - You better be out exactly at noon or you can expect incessant phone calls and knocking on your door. (Sure, once is enough)

Gem in Philadelphia

Located on the Temple University campus,this was a lucky choice. The reasonable cost (off- season for college visitors)was a major factor in choosing this inn. However the location (10 minutes from downtown), attractive, spacious and immaculate room and charming service made this a real find.

What a delightful surprise!

We were visiting family. This hotel was in a convienant location for us. It was a nice quiet spot in the middle of a busy place. The subway was a short walk away. We did not know the city so this Inn felt like a safe and nice place to stay.

It is a short walk to the subway that will take you anywhere in the city. It has a nice parking lot to leave your car while you ride the subway.

Great location

The Conwell Inn is a cute, intimate hotel located on the Temple University campus run, I hear, by the hotel management department on campus. The room was spacious and very comfortable. It would be helpful if the hotel had a list of nearby restaurants (other than fast food).

Unique hotel location

The Conwell Inn is a nice, quiet hotel. The rooms are unique with a couple steps and a railing - more like a den area for sleeping. It's right in the middle of Temple University's campus, and there were plenty of restaurants & snack shops within walking distance. The only down side was that it was hard to find (even our GPS got confused) - and I finally had to call the hotel for directions. Plus the family had planned to go swimming, but the pool is in a University building and closed around 5:30 PM. Otherwise, a great place to stay!
