Reputation Risk
From the beginning this was one of the worst travel experiences, I have ever had! We only stayed there, because we had to come to town unexpectedly to take my father to the hospital. The hotel was dirty in the entrance and the rooms were not much better. Drawers in the room had a sign that paraphrased stated: “For show only, drawers do not open”. There was a mouse that ran through the bathroom while I was in it. The other guests were making noise through the thin walls throughout our stay. The elevator had duck tap on the door and the buttons did not have covers, so you had to push your finger through the button to select your floor. You could feel the bed springs through the mattresses. The kicker was on the morning we were leaving, our car had been broken into and personal items were taken. When it was mentioned to the hotel desk attendant, his response was: “What do you want me to do?”…Horrible and this travel site should remove this establishment from any list as an option to protect its own reputation.

Just a room
The hotel was very convenient to a womens basketball playoff, however I was very disappointed that the internet connection didn't work and when I woke up the next morning there were bug bites on my face and arms. Some of the staff were pleasant but others seem to have no clue. I guess the bites are the worst thing as they are still swollen 5 days later. You should take this hotel off your site.

Great for the "In and Out" Business trips!
Staff was very friendly. The room was overall very comfortable for short stays. I highly recommend this hotel for those on fast business trips or those who are touring Philly and just need a place to crash. Also there is a subway, buffet, pizza place and a boston market, right next to the hotel. Free wireless internet too. The only downside is that the heat is centrally controlled. I stayed in early October and the room was a little bit cold.

You Get What You Pay For
We only stayed for one night so we did not spend much time at the hotel. The service was good and the styling was unexpected, very jazzy. We never found used needles like a previous review stated and the parking was not bad at all. For what i payed for the hotel room and how close it was to everything not a bad place to stay if you are ever in Philadelphia and are feeling the hard economic times.

North American Motor Inn, Philadelphia
This motel is filthy. It took me 15 minutes to check in. Nothing is organized. There was no internet, no iron, no ironing board. The room was not cleaned. I will not recommend anyone to sleep there.

Adequate Alternate Location
The locations we usually use, which are either downtown or in Univeresity City, were all sold out due to several events in the city. North Ameriucan Moter Inn was an adequate substitute. The staff was polite and helpful. THe HVAC is not up-to-sate. There was no AC are outside air -- just heat. Party goers on first floor were loud if you were in the lobby but only a slight bother on the fourth floor. The linens did not include hand towls and the pillows were thin. Other than a convenience store next door, there did not appear to be a place to eat in the location or nearby. This not a problem for us -- we came in the afternoon for a dinner engagement and left early and had breakfast at the railroad station. Location is convenient to downtown abd Universuty Cuty by taxi. Current owners probably are not the original ones and appear to be trying to upgrade an older facility. If your usual location is booked, give these people a try.

As mentioned in the general review, other than a convenience store nest door, we saw no place to eat in the immediate area. On the otheer hand, we did not ask.

The No Tell Motel
Our daughter goes to college in Philadelphia. It was parents weekend. Just needed a place to lay our heads for 2 nights. Location was not bad. Then we got to the motel. The room had a film of dust everywhere. The hot water has a high pitched sound while running. They refused to bring a bath mat (try stepping on the cold tile floor after your shower! ) The walls are paper thin (we could hear the entire conversation of the couple next door). There were adults and children running up and down the hall all hours of the night into early morning. The parking for hotel guests is horrible-not enough parking spaces. It was like being on a roller coaster. God forbid if you have a nice car or large SUV-feel sorry for you. And I would suggest that you find out in advance if there is to be a catered event because then you won't have any parking. Security was a joke. And it took 20 minutes to find a manager for assistance. Never again.

Unsatisfied, o stars
Although location may be good, the hotel is horrible, all seem like a "poor country" hotel, smeels bad, they say there is internet in all rooms but only in first and second rooms. It is not 85 dollars worthy, probably 30-45 at the most
