great place at a great price
I was amazed at how clean and well kept up this hotel was, especially for the price. They even had continental breakfast for the morning. Can't beat the price and right in the city center. Perfect for low budget business traveling.

Not Good
I wouldn't recommend this motel unless you are desperate. Loud location, funky smells, dirty halls, old cracked bathroom floor, not clean and leaking faucet. Plus the heater didn't work ! Staff was fine and the continental breakfast was fine.

Basic but clean and well maintained travelodge in downtown Portland OR
I have been satisfied with my stay at Travelodge City Center Portland. This place is, indeed, very close to the main attractions of Portland downtown. There is plenty of public transit to get from/to the hotel as well. It is bext to the PSU campus. Room was clean and everything - TV, fridge, coffee-maker - was working all right. Room was spacious enough. The breakfast is very minimal but there is one. Wi-fi was fast and worked every time that I needed it. Staff was really friendly and helpful.

Entertainment tip:
Short drive from hotel
Go see Portland Trail Balzers playing in Rose Garden. You would have to take a bus or use light rail, but it is not far and worth of it.

Great for a few nights
i really liked this budget motel, It was very clean and I felt safe staying here. It was a little far from the public transportation I was using during my stay, especially after I injured myself playing in the city. The room had a fridge and a microwave in the room and discount coupons for a great breakfast a the bar below the office. Overall a great place to stay near downtown Portland.

portland during rose festival
I have stayed here once before and the rates were reasonable for an edge of downtown motel. Mass transit was convinient and if you don't mind walking a mile or so,most spots are reachable. I had a problem initially-I stayed 12 days-in that my room had no microwave and the fridge didn't work. The first clerk gave me a "so what can I do attitude" but the second guy who I met last time corrected the problem by day two.

Good place to stay
It was overall a good experience. The rooms were clean and comfortable. It really wasn't that bad of a walk to downtown as long as its not raining. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. I would stay here again.

over the bar
Didn't know our room was directly over a local bar so was a little annoyed about midnite when bar patrons gathered on sidewalk for a smoke and some loud conversation. Second night was better. Best thing about it was 10 minutes to VA hospital. So simple it outweighed any negatives.
