Good location,but very noisy

The hotel is in good location, very unique decorations... staffs are very friendly. However, the room is very noisy at night(there're trams crossing by thus made very loud noise). Not recommended for senior people to stay.

Perfect location, Had everything we needed

We stayed three nights and enjoyed concerts at the Crystal Ballroom. It was walking distance to the shows, and to fantastic restaurants, and to Whole Foods. We took the train from the airport and only had to walk 4 blocks to the hotel. Our room was newly renovated with a kitchenette. Even though it was a queen sized bed, it was big and very comfortable for 2. We enjoyed the view from the window of the city too. And the continental breakfast in the morning was just perfect. There was an expresso maker that made the most delicious drinks. Staff was very friendly and accommodating.

Excellent price to value hotel

The Mark Spencer is conveniently located to most major attractions in the city. The room was large, clean and comfortable. The staff was very attentive. The free continental breakfast and afternoon wine and snacks were more than adequate. The only "negative" is that the room walls were a tad thin. If you have loud neighbors, you will hear them. The next time I am in Portland, I will be staying at the Mark Spencer again.

great for spending time in the pearl district

so close to so many wonderful things! we walked for sushi, went to powell's, stopped off at the brewery and then came back to this wonderful hotel. the beds are amazing, the staff is courteous, and the other guests are typically quiet in the hallways. low points - shower heads are unimpressive & there was no exhaust fan in the small bathroom (and i take super hot showers). would have also been nice to have a coffee maker in the room.

Best Hotel In Downtown/Pearl Dist. of Portland

Our room was upgraded to 1 bedroom Exec King from Deluxe Queen. Had corner view from top floor with 3 windows that actually opened and views of the city. Hotel continental breakfast average (pastries, yogurt, juice). Additionally, hosted 4PM Tea/Coffee Cookie hour and 5PM wine tasting hour everyday. European coffee machine offers regular coffee, lattes, mocha's, cappuccino, tea & hot chocolate 24/7. So many wonderful & diverse restaurants within easy walking distance and Powell's Books only 1 block away. Street car lines within 1 block, light rail/bus within 5 blocks. Can't get much better than this and plan to return again.

Great Choice

This is such a good location for the downtown area, and the Pearl District. We felt very safe walking around the area at night. The continental breakfast, tea cookies and wine (all Complimentary) were a wonderful treat. The staff were great! I would stay here again!

Clean, affordable, great location.

We checked in, got the room key and proceeded to the room. After scanning the key we opened the door to find two people in bed. They were as surprised as we were. One of the clerks at the front desk had given someone else the room assigned on our reservation. It was cleared up and we were upgraded at no charge. From then on there was no problem. The complimentary breakfast was perfect. The Concordia Beverage Machine was out of this world. The homemade cookies were yummy. The complimentary wine each night was lovely.
