Morning extras
This is a very nice hotel. The breakfast options provide a good choice and the convenience elimates a scramble to prep, find food, and travel to business meetings. A definate stress reducer.

Good value for your dollar
The Silver Cloud Inn located in the Nobb Hill area of downtown Portland provides good value for your dollar. The location is excellent, just steps away from the trendy NW 23rd Street shopping and restaurant area. The room was clean, comfortable, and large with a desk, microwave, fridge, coffee maker and a 40 plasma TV. There was also an iron and ironing board. The bathroom was separate from the vanity area, a nice feature. Bath products were a bonus! The staff were friendly and helpful. The downside was the breakfast and the breakfast eating area. The breakfast room was small and very crowded and the selection of foods limited. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel.

The eggs benny at Bewaw's (2301 NW Savier St/NW 23rd) was amazing. Obviously a hit with the locals. Great value for your dollar. Dinner at 23HOYT (529 NW 23rd Ave) was tres cher but excellent food, good wine selection, and service. Papa Hayden's ( 71 NW 23rd Ave) has good food and a range of dinner selections from burgers to scallops.

Comfort and good deals mom
Great places I have stayed
My son and I were there to participate in Univ of Portland's Weekend on the Bluff. The Hotel was perfect. It took 10 easy mins to get to the Univ. When we weren't at the School it was nice to have 23rd St with all of it's shops and boutiques to go through. The hotel staff were very helpful and courteous. The rooms were great and it was nice to have a complimentary breakfast. We really needed that service because of our early rising times. I don't eat grains of any kind so I was appreciative of the eggs and sausage. Yeah protein!! I had just taken a business trip and The Silver Cloud was so much better and less costly than where I stayed before. If my son goes to UP I will definately stay at Silver Cloud.

Not only is this a great hotel but because it is slightly out of downtown, it is also very reasonably priced. Complimentary breakfast was great.

Centrally located, clean, comfortable

Delightfully surprising
We were greeted by very professional desk staff, well dressed, and given an excellent recommendation for dinner. Good walking distance from Portland's "hippest" night scene - 23rd Ave. Will recommend the hotel to all our friends! Chk out was warp speed! K/J

Most comfortable hotel on our west coast trip
Between San Francisco and Portland, this was my favorite hotel. The location was pretty good, customer service was what it should be, the continental breakfast was a big help not to mention good, and the room was comfortable, clean, and our bed was always made and new soap was there when needed. My only complaint was the price - but it was the best deal we could find in the city in our time frame; sometimes that's how it goes, but it all worked out.
