Right on the Portland Trolley line
The good: Good views of the waterfront (right there) at South Riverplace, and right on the Portland Trolley line. The bed was sumptuous and comfortable, and the suite was spacious. The environment was totally quiet on what could be a party night (we were required to sign a no parties disclosure). The fair: The concrete pillars and decks of the Marquam Bridge tower overhead to the South of the hotel, a bit of an eyesore, yet noise was not a problem and view was fine. Furnishings are rather plain and various wires were in evidence, but all were clean, comfortable and serviceable. The parking lot was at capacity at 2am on New Year's Day - the last space left was partly overlapped by a large truck that was over the line - good thing our car was a compact, and woe to whomever came in later. Note that the parking is a largish extra charge. The unknown: Did not try the WiFi or the breakfast bar. Other places I've stayed downtown Portland and my relative rating (+ better than this, = same as, - worse than this): Heathman Hotel++, Benson Hotel+, Downtown Marriott=, Waterfront Marriott=, Hotel 50=, Mark Spencer Hotel-, Convention Center Red Lion-, Jupiter Hotel--. Summary: nice location, easy access to transit, quiet, a little pricey, spacious and comfortable, would recommend and would stay here again.

Nice hotel but hidden costs
The hotel advertises being on riverwalk, but in fact overlooked industrial construction and Heating vents.Staff was very nice, but they washed the lobby floor between 4:00-6:00 p m so getting to elevators was precarious. They charged $25 per dog( we have two bichons) plus $25 parking fee, so my excellent online rate was augmented by additional $75! Room was great, spacious, nicely appointed

Very good experience
My only complaint and it was handled quickly, was a barking dog in the next room.

Extended Stay was Great!
We stayed here in a 2 bedroom room suite with 2 young kids. It was chosen for us by our relocation company. The pool is awesome and the breakfasts, are seriously, AWESOME! The staff is wonderful, extremely helpful, and courteous! The washers and dryers are sub-par. Some don't work and it's often busy! This place allows dogs, so be aware of that. Saw someone feeding their dog breakfast with a fork at the buffet. GROSS! Complained to the front desk and they had already rec'd complaints about this person. That was the last time we saw that person. Wasn't too happy about oversized vehicle parking area, although nothing ever happened to our vehicle. Close to streetcar stop and waterfront... major plus! All in all, very much enjoyed our stay here

Friendly, immaculate weekend getaway
The staff was helpful in arranging transportation and giving us some good ideas about what to do in Portland. The Portland Street Car begins its route only steps away from the hotel, and we used it for free and easy trips into the city. At night we had a wonderful meal at Thirst, a local wine bar and restaurant a short walk away along the river. The breakfast staff was friendly and eager to please. Our room was large and comfortable with a full kitchen, comfy king sized bed , and nice sitting area. The pool and whirlpool were very nice, as was the gym.
