Good location for Metro transit & Convention Center.
The hotel is getting a bit dated compared to newer hotels and could use a refurbish but all in all it's OK. It is a very convenient location if you are attending an event at the Convention Center and the Metro rail is right next to the hotel so you can get to the airport or downtown at your pleasure. (Buy a day pass and go whenever & wherever you want by bus or tram.)

Extra for parking, good location....be wary of the fact that they close the lounge for private parties..so you're out of luck if that happens. Staff is rather indifferent.

Just a place to stay - $40 more will get ya a bargain.
Sorry, but the staff were just waiting for check ins... no character and not trying to really do anything. No wonder, there is nothing. No spa, no free parking and on our night - NO LOUNGE. All reserved for other folks. UGH

never stay here again
THe hotel and staff rock; however; I felt like I was at an airline because of the hidden cost I was hit with at the door. $15 pet fee and $12 a night to park my car. Really 12 a night to park a car in a hotel parking lot reserved for guest. This really turned me off and set the tone for the stay. The hotel internet was really bad and unusable from my ipad and iphones.

Bathrooms need help.....
This hotel is nothing extra special, the staff was polite but didn't seem excited to be at work. Parking was available if you were the first one in the lot in the evening. Our room was clean, nice view but the bathroom was gross. Our shower was filled with peeling caulk and what wasn't peeling was covered in black mold. I ended up giving my toddler a bath with a wash rag, while she stood on a towel in the tub! The towels felt like burlap and smelled heavily of chemicals. Next time I would choose a hotel in the city or try one of the two other Red Lion's in the city.

Great value, location. Had a nice stay!
I was in town for five days for the Black Keys concert and stayed here. The staff was very friendly and accomodating, the room was very clean and spacious, and the hotel itself was right next to the MAX line and a number of bus stops. Housekeeping is up and at'em pretty early, so be sure and put the "Do Not Disturb" sign on your door if you want to sleep past 8AM. I couldn't tell you about the diner; there's WAY too much great food in Portland to eat in a hotel restaurant. But I would definitely stay here again; I had a good time.

Money-saving tip:
Short walk from hotel
If you're in town for a few days and don't have a car, go to the MAX station a block away and buy a 7-day All Adult Zones pass. It's good for buses and the light rail, will save you alot of trouble and will pay for itself in a day, trust me.
