Very nice stay.

The hotel was excellent. It is in the center of downtown and convenient to everywhere we wanted to go on foot. The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms roomy and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful and room service was very quick. Only the toast and sausages were undercooked. All in all a very nice stay.

Birthday Weekend

My husband decided to take me for a weekend get away for my 40th birthday. We wanted to be able to sleep in and relax while being close to shopping and fine dining. Usually I love Marriott however this was not the best stay. There is construction on this property so the first night we had noises until later evening. The next morning we woke again to noises at about 7:30 a.m. We decided to go grab breakfast and come back and take a nap and again the hammering was so loud that we coudn't sleep. This really put a damper on our first night through late afternoon. The staff was very nice and moved us to a lower level room where the construction noises wouldn't be so loud. We did continue to hear them. I feel like there should be some warning given before booking a room. We also visited the bar for a later evening glass of wine and dessert. The two glasses and creme brulee were extremely over priced and the creme brulee had obviously been reheated as it was gritty. We really wanted to get away from our young children and go relax and unfortunately were not able to do so on this trip. The staff was so nice and felt so bad that we had this situation but obviously there was nothing they could do about it. I think that next time we will stay somewhere else as this was just not a good experience.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

It's two blocks from Pioneer Square. I took the lite rail (Red Line) from the A/P to the hotel - $2.50. The shuttle was priced at $14.00. Great Bargain!!

Great location for downtown Portland

The Hotel was extremely clean, the Staff was SUPER, they were all friendly, professional and went way over the top to ensure a great stay at the hotel. My friends and I all agreed this is the new place for us to stay on our visits to The Rose City. I will also look into Marriot Hotels elsewhere I travel. I have no problems in recommending this hotl 100%.

Portland Geteway

We arrived earlier than the check in time. The room was available. The front desk was very nice and very accommodating. It was our first time to Portland. Everytime we needed information about the city or places to see, they took the time to help. Coffee in the rooms is very good, nice clean rooms, and the Mez bar is a nice place to end the evening.

Great location, great price

For the location, the price is great. Easy to walk just about anywhere you'd want to downtown. Only drawback is not many amenities. Valet staff was great.
