Better than predicted

The location was great and the staff was accommodating. The only thing I would recommend to the staff is to clean the showers with bleach and make sure that parking was not charged when it is not used. That was a put-off. The front desk staff was great and the room was comfortable.

Good choice for Downtown

Chosen for its location, but also because previous stays were enjoyable, the Paramount is ideally located for restaurants (eg. Southpark Wine Bar) and for events (Arlene-Schnitzer). Amongst boutique hotels it offers good value. The only caveat is the cost of valet parking, which is a problem with any hotel in Downtown Portland.

very reasonable for Portland for this time of year

The hotel was a little difficult to find especially at night since the sign is not lit and most of the immediately visible signs indicate the restraunt and not the hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room a little noisy, you could hear the pipes and surrounding people and couple of thumps from above. Perhaps this was more noticeable since we had just come from a weeks stay at Cederbrook Lodge in Seatac and it was absolutely quiet and relaxing even though the airport was just a mile away. Parking is $28.
