Everything was perfect. The staff was competent, friendly, and professional. The hotel decor is quirky but beautifully done. The evening wine hour is something to look forward to especially if there are guests dogs present. Fun !

Clean, friendly, convenient to walk to locations. Business trip.
Very good experience and exceptional staff! At first disappointed as I didn't get the "queen" bed I had booked. Small room with standard instead. Obviously I had been bumped out of room I booked because I was single, but was not even notified or given a choice. Would have liked the room I booked or at least told what happened. Wine reception disappointing...long lines, waiting, not enough places to sit. Bed very comfortable. Nice TV and coffeemaker in room. Very thoughtful staff and willing to help in any way. Room very quiet, too.

I Will Return
I loved the decor! Most comfortable bed with great sheets, a down comforter and lots of feather pillows. The reception room (red room) is perfect to sit and talk with friends. Complimentary wine is a plus. The location is great! Huber's is just down the Street and the VQ is maybe 6 blocks away, two of my favorite bars in Portland. We had breakfast at Mother's & the following day a muffin and scone at Great Harvest Bakery. Both very reasonably priced. Dinner at E-Sans and Mama Mia's both were very good and reasonably priced. Shopping abounds and Max Lite Rail is GREAT. No need for a rental car. You even have access to NW Portland. We went to Powell's book store and stopped off at Deschutes Brewery. So sorry we missed Rogue Ales. I will be back : )

Father, flying in a son and girl friend, meeting other son, wife, new baby.
Maid service: excellent. The Nines (past trip) did not provide new soap, body wash and Monaco did. Bathroom at the Monaco, well lite and clean. General Commons Area: very nice room. Workout Room: Monaco has the best facility compared to The Nines and Governor Hotel. Morning coffee and afternoon happy hour: very well done.

First Room Smelled of Wet Dog, they made it right for me...
I had a great time at the Hotel Monaco in Portland. The first room was a beautiful corner room but it smelled of wet dog. I tried to deal with it assuming it would go away after a day or so but when it didn't I complained and they immediately moved me to another fantastic room, this time free of any smells. Loved the free beer and wine tastings in the lobby in the evening and the coffee in the mornings was perfect!

Fabulous hotel
We arrived late and were exhausted and were greeted by a very helpful employee... and I guess because it was so late, we were able to receive an upgrade which was really fabulous. We weren't there too long so I can't give opinions on an extended stay but I really like the room decor (not my taste but I liked it because it was refreshing and different), the in-room amenities and the cleanliness. After traveling for 2+ weeks around the US, this would be one of my top hotels. All the staff that we spoke with were very helpful. The valet parking is on the pricey side and we were too tired to determine if there was a smart park nearby, which there might be. HIghly recommend this hotel.
