Perfect weekend getaway

We were able to park the car on Friday and not get it to Sunday. It was great being able to walk or take transit to anything we wanted to do over the weekend. The rooms are smaller but decorated nicely and very comfortable. It is what you expect staying in a historic hotel. The omelets at Gracie's were amazing. The front desk staff was very friendly and were quick to switch our room to a/c and send up a fan when we notified them that our room was hot.

Great stay at deLuxe

Had a great stay at the hotel deLuxe. The atmosphere is fantastic, with the movie theme very well carried out throughout the property. The lobby is very stately and cozy at the same time. The little bar is one of the coziest , with great mixologists and food. The restaurant serves excellent breakfast lunch and dinners. A pleasure throughout with amazing service and quality. I have stayed here a few times now. If you are more than 1 person and stay for a while, I suggest upgrading the room to a "feature type". Much larger (2x, 3x?) than the single room I have had which is kind of small. Worth the upgrade price.

Snowy weekend

Overall it was a good stay. The staff was great. The room was as expected. However, from this type of hotel I really expect the heat to be more than a space heater in the room (the room heat was not working and was not fixed while we were there). Bathroom was a bit cold. I suspect the snow event slowed things down a bit for them.

Great, after upgrade

The room we were given after booking on was next to the fitness center and was a dungeon. It looked up and out at a fire escape through a blood spattered window, with a narrow corridor of light fighting it's way through. I immediately called the front desk and complained that considering we were staying two nights and had reserved several weeks ago, they should have done better for us. They agreed to move us and gave us a lovely , more spacious room on the seventh floor. They said it was normally an upcharge, so it concerns me what rooms they might normally reserve for customers. Otherwise, staff was extremely gracious and the hotel is lovely.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Try Vietnamese restuarant named Silk. Staff at hotel mentioned it. Go early for happy hour specials in the bar area if you want great Vietnamese food and drinks at really good prices. It's about an easy 10 minute walk
