Nice if you like rustic hotel trying to be modern

The hotel front desk and reception area were consistently welcoming and helpful and was the highlight of my stay at Hotel Lucia. I called for room service twice and with simple orders and each time did not receive everything I had requested. My room was on the end of the hallway next to the ice machine which went off every 15 mins and was overflowing. After my second night I requested if they could turn it off and they were kind enough to do it for the night. The machine is loud and kept me up every night, even with ear plugs and the TV as background noise. The rooms are TINY and shower pressure is poor. All in all, I am not impressed with the hotel for the amount spent on a a three night stay.

Great Location, but small room

What was most important to myself and my girlfriend was the location of the hotel and the price, and this one did not dissapoint. Walking distance to anything downtown, and only a few blocks away from Voodoo Doughnuts. We got the smallest and cheapest room, knowing it would be tiny. And it was, so I realy can't complain. Just be aware that if you require a room that's not so tiny, you might want to upgrade. Hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. We definitely enjoyed our stay in Portland!

A pleasant trip

I was in Portland for a conference at the convention center. The hotel is in a great location. Easy to get to from the airport via the trimet lightrail. Easy to get to the convention center. Overall a pleasant experience. Very nice as boutique hotels go. Although, I wish there was a mini fridge in the room.

Welcoming hotel in a great location

I stayed at Hotel Lucia for a few days on a trip to PDX. The hotel is in a very convenient location for just about everything, from getting to and from the airport to access to downtown Portland. The hotel staff was friendly and knowledgable about the area as well.

Great location in a warm environment

Overall, we had a positive experience with friendly warm staff in a nice boutique environment. The room was too tiny for two people staying for a whole week ["Deluxe King" Seriously?], however, and had to bite the bullet and upgrade to a suite. [frowny face]

Great location and service... rooms are little small

I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Lucia, where I stayed for a wedding in Portland at the Art Museum. The location was perfect and the staff was very friendly, but the room was very small, almost too small. That being said, the bed was comfy and shower was great (always important!). The bar/restaurant downstairs was solid too.

Room is super tiny but staff is amazing

Overall I did not have a comfortable experience at this hotel. The room is so cramped I barely had enough room to put my luggage. It is about half the size of a standard hotel room. Also the walls are thin and you can always hear people talking down the hall and doors slamming. Sometimes there's this buzzing noise that just won't stop. I personally would not recommend it for the price. But having said that, the staff is amazing and very courteous. The location is close to many shops and main attractions (Powell bookstore, Pioneer Mall, Voodoo Doughnuts).

Valet parking is a hefty $35 a night but you can avoid it by parking at a lot across the hotel for $17.
