Nice stay

Stayed in Portland, walked the city. Happened to be there for the Rose parade. It would have been nice if hotel had marked off a section for hotel guests, since it passed by hotel. Hotel staff were very nice and attentive. Prime House had excellent food and fantastic hour. Dined and lunched at some very good places. We were pleasantly surprised and impressed with dining around town.

Downtown Portland

Portland is a great small city. The service was excellent. The city had plenty of local attractions, large and small. I'm partial to the art and museums.

Beautiful Hotel!

The downtown location was fantastic. Very Central with lots of shops and cafe's. We had a King suite that was extremely reasonably priced for the quality of the hotel. Beautifuly redone old world charm of the lobby and room. The only drawback is that the hotel does not have complimentary parking. There is a lot across the street that hotel guests can park in. It's $18.00/per day or $28.00/per day vallet, but this is not uncommon for downtown hotels and this hotel is worth the parking fees.

Beautiful old hotel with modern updates

Loved the architecture and the building's charm. Rooms were large and had everything one could need. Beautifully decorated. Bed was extremely comfortable. We were there for a nearby wedding. Very convient location and wonderful free breakfask the next morning before we left. Wish there were staff milling around the lobby to help with questions.

Great downtown hotel

The downtown Portland Embassy Suites is a beautiful old renovated hotel in a good location to restaurants, shops and entertainment. We were very satisfied with everything from the friendly, helpful staff at the front desk to the large, comfortable room. We enjoyed both managers' happy hour and the breakfast the next morning. We already have recommended this hotel to friends.

Great Hotel

We really enjoyed our stay. The room was spacious and clean, and beds were comfortable. Helpful and friendly staff. Location worked well too, walking distance to restaurants and shopping. However, you need transportation to the Pearl and NW districts. Wasn't a problem for us since we had a car. Parking garage across the street if you don't want to pay the $28 for valet

Great Hotel Downtown

We had a standard 2-Queen suite with two queen beds in the bedroom and a very large living room. There is a substantial door between the bedroom and the rest of the suite, so some members of the party can sleep undisturbed while others are awake. The complimentary breakfast, including made-to-order eggs or omelette, is much better than free breakfasts at other hotels.

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

The hotel's valet parking is quite expensive, though not unreasonable for a downtown location. We had no trouble finding parking on the street alonside the hotel or in the next block. Payment is required from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m (except shorter hours on Sunday). If you are going to be away from the hotel most of the time during the day, as we were, it works out better to park on the street and just pay for the time you need.
