Great hotel in awesome location

If you are looking for a hotel in downtown Portland, you probably realized they are expensive! When we picked Embassy Suites we were really just trying to find a decent hotel downtown without spending a lot. However, we got so much more than we bargained for. The hotel is BEAUTIFUL. It is located in a historic building and the lobby is amazing. The rooms have all been redone and are sleek but comfortable. The location could not be better and the service was 5 star. Who would expect luxury at an Embassy Suites?

Excellent stay

We stayed 3 nights at this location. Room did not have a good view, but I did not request one. Room was always whisper quiet at night and cleaned spotlessly. Great location to all trimet busses and trains. Easy walking to lots of restaurants and sights. Breakfast and evening reception make this a great value

Great Value for MOney

They upgraded us to King suite for free! Breakfast was average, nothing special. Location is perfect. It is at walking distance to all attractions.

Great spot to stay

Had a great experience, except for receiving some pushback from the staff one night. Each night, I called down and asked for a knife so I could portion out food I had in my room. The first two nights, it was sent up without hesitation. The third night, I spent 20 minutes being passed back and forth from the front desk to the restaurant, with everyone exclaiming that it "wasn't their job". Never did get that knife, due to Amanda at the front desk. Wasn't a problem with anyone else I asked. That said, it was generally a great place to stay.

Old-school comfort

The hotel was easy to get to using the TriMet rail from the airport. The location was a little seedy (homeless and missions in surrounding blocks) but very close to Powell's, Voo Doo, Pioneer Square, Pearl, Saturday Market and other shopping and restaurants...all within easy walking distance. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The suite comfortable, clean, and well-sized. The hotel happy hour food was a great deal (tasty and inexpensive). All in all, a very good experience.

Weekend away

This downtown hotel has a lot of history. Built in 1912 as the Multnomah Hotel, it offers a majestic lobby when you enter the hotel. The staff is quick to help out if you need something. The suites are spacious and the bed is outstanding. My one and only complaint is the hot water. Apparently you should take a shower early in the morning because at 10:00am you will only have lukewarm water.

CITY VIEW RIGHT

Over all the place is nice BUT DO NOT PAY THEUPGRADE FOR CITY VIEW BECAUSE WHAT YOU GET IS A VIEW OF THE PARKING GAGARGE WHICH IS TALLER THAN THE HOTEL! When I checked out I was asked about my stay and I expressed my displeasure with paying an extra 20-30 dollars for city view and I didn't get one. The reply I got was the hotel used to be the biggest in the city now its not. Other than that I think that for 200 a night they could throw in Wi Fi

Classy and Easy

Chose this hotel for the location and price at the time. A little more classic than some of the "hipper" places in the area and the cliental skewed older. The free cafeteria style breakfast in the morning was appreciated.
