Well...got less than we paid for...for sure.

The only good thing I can say about this hotel is that when I left my wallet downstairs on a table in the "courtyard" it was returned to me when I inquired. Otherwise, the room STUNK, the light switches were STICKY and we were both way to grossed out to use the shower in the morning after a night of drinking and exploring the cool shops and eateries in the area. This was a first for me...I typically can roll with the pros and cons.

Great location on Burnside, Good Value

Centrally located, food trucks across the street. An easy walk across the Burnside Bridge to Voodoo Donuts and the Portland Saturday Market. Clean, simple and an enormous amount of cable channels for when I got back at 2 AM and was munching on chicken wings from the Just Wings truck across the street.

Average hotel experience

The hotel room was generally clean but fixtures were dated and decor was modest. The light in the entry and above the bathroom mirror didn't work. The shower door was slightly rusted but very functional and generally clean. Our particular room faced a street that was moderately noisy through the night.

A Little More Than What You Pay For

The location is great, Burnside pretty much hits every location I needed or I was one bus away from a MAX station. This hotel is older, my room felt like at some time it was smoked in. It was clean. The front desk staff (maybe owner), was very pleasant and accommodating. Would recommend to couples/groups who just need a decent place to sleep and shower.

Not the happiest place on earth

The pictures made this place look decent, but it was really run down. It was fine just for sleeping.

inconvenient outlets

Beds and shower are fine. Wifi network is quite slow. The most annoying thing is all the outlets are all on very very inconvenient places-- behind the table, behind the fridge... so it's hard to find them and charge your electronic devices. Overall, the location and price is fine. A not bad place to sleep.

Basic lodging for simple travelers

I didn't spend too much time here because I was out most of the time with friends in Portland. This hotel is no-frills and feels more like a motel, as far as accommodations. If you want to live more luxuriously, there are plenty of other nearby options (such as the Jupiter Hotel, or the Double Tree a few blocks north). Eastside Lodge is just a simple place for local lodging for a night or two. For its minimal offerings, it works out just fine.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Since you're saving cash at Eastside Lodge, go check out Sizzle Pie, a few blocks down E Burnside. It's a "hardcore" pizza place with off-beat local character and a jukebox full of killer rock tunes.

Cheap, clean, but nothing fancy

It will do for a night or two but bring your own toiletries and expect an ordinary room, no frills.

Dive-y, but good location

Not too bad. Little dive-y, but you get what you pay for. Good location-go right across the burnside bridge and your in downtown! I liked that it has a fridge and microwave in room, but beware that the temperature range to fridge is either frozen or off...had a lovely frozen soda explosion...There's no coffee maker in the fridge but that forces you to go explore the delish cafe options that Portland has to offer. Free parking.
