Great location for Rose Festival

Saw Rose Festival, Rose Gardens, Japanese Gardens, all by Max train. Older hotel, and balcony rooms over look park and front entrance. City noises. Buffet breakfast is okay, but not gourmet. Nicer and more variety of restaurants you need to get away several blocks from the hotel because none were close by. Friendly staff and helped us figure out how to transfer from Max train to shuttles for Washington park.

Convenient Location

The beds were super comfortable! The location is right next to the MAX line and is w/in the free ride zone so getting to the Convention Center & dwntn is very easy. Right next to shopping @ Lloyd Ctr Mall. The double room had 2 separate sink & mirror areas. Hotel comped parking @ the garage otherwise that is expensive. Must pay for internet access in hotel rooms, but there is free wifi in all lobby areas. Free cookies are delicious & you can request more @ any time.

Hop on the MAX and head across the river to the first stop (Chinatown) and find Old Town Pizza. Tiny pizzeria with lots of character and great pizza.

Ran out of warm chocolate chip cookies, something that Double Tree is known for. Was given a room across from the noisy elevator.[...] The cheaper your rate, the cheaper your room. Also not shown how to use the parking garage. Was told only to hand the slip to the attendant on the way out. Charges 9 dollars a day

Public transit user's dream spot

super friendly, well-uniformed staff. Large hotel lacks indoor pool and sauna/whirlpool. We would have liked to have a less expensive cafe on premises, but nearby Denny's great for breakfast.

The excellent Portland MAX train stop is 1/2 block from entrance and stops at all convenient downtown locations/restaurants and goes to train station and airport direct.

Nice sheets

This hotel is conveniently located, right next to the MAX line. Getting in from the airport, or to downtown, is a breeze. Try to get an ODD numbered room and you are away from the transit corridor which can be sort of loud in a low-rumbling way. The internet ($10 a day) was blazing fast too. Great linens here...nice comfortable beds. I'd stay again.

Convenient to convention center

The best thing about this hotel is its highly convenient location to the Oregon Convention Center where I was attending a conference. The hotel is right next to the MAX light rail line making for a quick ride (2 short stops, about 5 minutes) to the Convention Center. If you prefer walking, you can get there in 10 minutes on foot. I was also able to take the MAX both to/from the airport (about 25-30 min) and around downtown (across the river from convention ctr) with ease. Rooms were nice, but nothing special. I enjoyed the fitness center, which is above average, and used it several times during my stay. Friendly, helpful staff.

Soso

Close to everything, right accross the street from the mall. Nice night view. Some things that I thought should complimentary weren't, like parking and wi-fi. Each is an additional 10 dollars.
