Quality Inn Woodside

Stayed here for 2 nights May '13 as a layover between flights into La Guardia and out of JFK. Good Value (paid under £100 per night) for New York. Good location, very near to subway and on major bus route so easy to access Manhattan. Local area was residential and felt safe at night going to and from subway. Lots of shops and restaurants nearby, only bought a few beers at one shop but good value. Also location was pretty quiet (for new york) and sleep was uninterrupted - I've struggled sleeping in Manhattan due to sirens and honking etc. Room was average size for new york, decor a bit tired, stains on carpet etc, but not dirty as such. No bed bugs that we noticed. Bathroom was also clean with good bath/shower. Usual stuff in room, flatscreen tv, coffee maker, fridge (a bonus in a lot of hotels these days). Free wireless in room that whilst not the quickest did work fine. Breakfast was OK, a few hot items that were alright but nothing special, usual cereals, bagels, donuts etc. Staff were OK, not rude but not particularly welcoming either. Just got on with the job. They did let us check in at 1.30pm which was good. Hotel also has a limited number of free car park spaces though so that could be a real bonus. Would stay again and recommend as a budget way to access Manhattan.

The location was perfect for me as I needed to be in close proximity to Skillman Avenue in Woodside. Also, the 7 Metro is just around the corner if you want to go to Manhattan. There is also a bus stop right across the street if you want to go to the Queens Mall (Macy's, etc.). The rooms in the hotel were spacious and clean. The double-beds were large and very comfortable. And the shower was very good; with plenty of towels supplied to the room every day. Wi-fi available. Other amenities; fridge, kettle, TV, iron, ironing board, hair dryer, However, there is no bar or lounge and the breakfast is minimal (tea, coffee, orange juice, apple juice, water, bread, bagels, corn flakes, and eggs in the shape of pancakes). There are plenty of good places to eat nearby, great food in The Kettle on 51st & Skillman Avenue. Overall I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is visiting Queens.

Pillow were very bad, room smelt musty, the fridge wasn't working and AC made loud noise.

quality inn woodside hotel is close to train station. you can go to downtown new york in 20 minutes. this is my first choice to hire a hotel room to be close to downtown. it was comfortable, staff was good. thank you for your kindness.

Great and Safe Parking! The rooms are cozy (small) but who is staying in the room when you are in New York!The room contains everything you need including a desk and chair. Safe walking distance to subway and the subway lets you off at the heart of Time Square. Subway was very clean! Subway runs 24 hours. There is a park in walking distance from hotel. There are stores to shop in and get souvenirs. Very nice view driving to the hotel and easy to find right off major road. (Queens Blvd) Easy access to get to any part of New York from that location. I will definitely revisit the hotel because that was my first experience and it was a good one. The continental breakfast was nice and the Wall Street Journal was the newspaper.

When we arrived we had a little trouble getting the rooms that we booked online. One of our rooms was sold to someone else. However, the motel very gladly upgraded our rooms for the inconvenience. After we got settled in the rooms were much nicer than I ever thought. Everything was clean and orderly. Housekeeping did a great job and the front desk staff were very helpful! I would definitely stay there again.

Our room was at basement level and near the elevator, so we can hear people going in and out which disturbs our sleep. Other than that, the location is good as it is near the subway station. We would go back there again

Nothing special, but clean, comfortable and close to the subway.

Overall a great experience. Make sure not to pick rooms near the vending machines. Skip the breakfast.

I took my boyfriend on a trip to NYC to see a show at Radio City Music Hall and we stayed overnight here. The room was immaculate! I couldn't believe how clean it was. Filled with extras: firdge, coffee maker (with coffee and tea), hair dryer; iron, ironing board, and a great flat screen TV. Great place to stay! I would highly recommend it!
