From the moment that guests lay their eyes on the Wolcott Hotel, they will notice its impressive construction, complete with classic French style and decor. This hotel prides itself on providing accommodation that is rich with elegance, but that is also reasonably priced. It is situated in a prime location, thus making it convenient for guests to walk to the many desirable sights, including shops, dining, world-famous attractions and theaters. Good hotel in a great location
Good hotel, great central location for midtown sights (Empire State Building, Rockefellar, Times Square), shopping on 5th Avenue and surrounding areas and entertainment (near Broadway), but not ideal if you would like to be near bars or restaurants that real New Yorkers go to (ie East Village/ Lower East side). However, if you are happy to take a taxi downtown to these places, then the Hotel Wolcott is a good choice. The rooms could do with some updating/modernising, but overall they were clean and comfortable. The free coffee and muffins at breakfast is a real bonus!

Irish Eyes are Smiling
Having visited NY many many times, I decided to try a different hotel this time. The Wolcott both met and exceeded my expectations, with the friendly staff, free morning refreshment in lobby, a clean comfortable room (although this was a bit too hot for comfort). Woulddefinitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel.

Use Taxis instead of subway, you get there quicker, see NY and is much more comfortable way to travel

Girly getaway!
This hotel has an excellent location, helpful staff, Room upgrades which were free and a complimentary breakfast! This hotel is definitely value for money!

Fab city location
I went with a friend we thoroghly enjoyed our stay staff were very helpfull with the exeption of the concierge who didnt seem to have a clue.. But think she was self employed anyway,room was clean and warm coffe and muffins in the morning were very welcome..location couldnt be better would stay there again happily..

Ticket centre at times square very usefull also when walking around counting avenues before streets got quicker results.

Girlie weekend away
Great location, within walking distance of Times Square and Broadway. We had view of someones fire escape, but kept blinds closed and meant that we had no noise from traffic! Foyer is very impressive, rooms however are basic, but very clean and comfortable. Lovely clean towels everyday! Staff were very friendly and always ready to help. The muffins served in the foyer at breakfast time were delicious and lasted us through to lunch. Would definitely stay again.

Exhausted NY Tourist
Not your typical hotel
The hotel is in a great location. It's only 4 blocks away from the 4,5,6 Subway. And just 2 or 3 away from the Empire State Building. It was a good base ground for doing all those tourist things in New York, becasue it was right in the middle of it all. But the area was never loud. It was very clean, great maid service, and much bigger than I expected it to be. I stayed with two of my friends in a Junior suite (one queen bed and one single bed) and we were very comfortable. Also, the hotel is old and the lobby is beautiful. It's charming. My only complaint is that some of the staff members were a bit rude to us, but it seems like that's New York for you.

Staff were not really very welcoming or helpful. A smile costs nothing after all. The reception area is beautiful and worth popping in just for a look. We had a junior suite which was ideal for the three of us.The cleaning staff were very friendly and kept the room very tidy and clean, top marks to them. Some nice bars close by.Bit of a,walk to Times Square, so wear low heals. Penn station is only a short distance from the hotel so you can get the train any where and its very cheap. Overall I would stay there again, but please some one get the staff to smile and be more helpful.
