Wingate by Wyndham Manhattan Midtown

My families experience with this hotel is poor. On our first night stay, they gave our room away and our kids had to sleep on an air mattress. Which were hard as a rock. I have never seen a hotel not have roll away beds. The front desk staff stated that my room is not guaranteed, if you state you have two adults and two kids it will only allow you to book a room with two double beds. very poorly handled. The General manager stepped up and comped us the first night stay. The location is good close to Time Square. Parking will cost you if you are staying for a week.

.. good location...easy subway connection. .. at the moment (2/13), a truck/compressor runs around the clock directly across from the hotel. Avoid a room facing on 35th street--especially on a lower floor. Now I understand why ear plugs were included with the regular amenities (i.e., soap, shampoo, etc.).!.. if you can get a "special" price--around $105 plus tax, etc.--go for it. .. the biggest plus for the Wingatre was the great hot breakfast -- eggs, bacon/sausage, waffles the works. At NY prices, this is a real plus.

This hotel is in a perfect location, although looking a little tired compared to previous years, its still great value for money. Richard in the breakfast room is an absolute hoot!

Upon getting there the staff was very accommodating yet the room itself seemed make-shift. There were holes in the wall from a TV wall mount, there was hair on the hair dryer, and almost no wireless/Internet signal in the room. There was a misunderstanding when another person tried to open the room door claiming it was their room but we are unsure if that wa the fault of the staff. On the plus side breakfast was amazing and checkout was quick and easy, possibly you might just have to get a room higher up in the building.

Hotel was adequate, the wi fi was down much of the time which was frustrating. Very expensive for the location.

On 35th street, which means just next to the Times Square. And can walk to 5th avenue!!

Stayed for week. Clean rooms. Nice friendly employees. Great breakfast. Nice eating area. Hotel restaurant for lunch was superb. Great for subway connections. Can easily get uptown or downtown. Right next Penn Station. Plenty of nearby places to eat. Can get to all tourist attractions from here. Heat & Air worked good and you could control it. I have gone 4 years in a row for 7 days each trip, have stayed at more expensive places up 7th Avenue & on Broadway and this is by far the most pleasurable trip that I have had taken. Will be glad to stay there again. Should get 5 stars.

The hotel is nice and comfortable, located few blocks away from Times square. Streets are not dark as written in other comments. The negative thing is a/c and bathroom fan are too noisy!

The staff here have been very friendly and helpful. We were due to check out on the 29th oct. but due to hurricane sandy we have been trapped here in NY. The staff and hotel management have been so helpful. Would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a central stay in NY.

Our hotel rooms were large for NYC and very clean. The location was very good if traveling by train to Penn station. The free included breakfast was very good. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Only negative was the a/c was a bit noisy and the bathroom fan was also loud.
