The Wellington
We thought the location was perfect. Just far enough away from Times Square and close enough to Lincon Center, Radio City, and Central Park South to walk. Room was clean and had modern bath fixtures. Naturally, it wasn't the largest, but it was quiet and the hotel seemed uncrowded despite being full.

The Deli across the street from Carnigie Hall on 7th was a great place for breakfast, inexpensive, and mainly for the neighborhood, not the tourists. It gives you a slice to the real NYC.

Location was great...only
Everything about this hotel, except its excellent Midtown Manhattan location, felt universally ordinary, and sub-par considering its setting and the price. Not only was there a fee for WiFi, but the room was small, the closet was small, the bathroom was small (with hardly any shelf space and a glass cup wrapped in paper - barely a step up from a motor lodge). There were food crumbs in the crevices of the chair and along the floor boards above the carpet, which made the whole cleanliness of the hotel feel below effort.

Just a 10-15 minute to the heart of Times Square and the Theater District, so this felt just far enough away from those crowds to be a bit of a refuge from the throngs of tourists.

Great place to stay...
my experience overall was good, room was super small, but for 7days in NYC it was ok. We were always on the go, trains are next to the hotel, Central Park, Times Square, etc.

For saving in food, go to TAD's steak House, Subway is downstairs, go down 8th Ave. and the prices go down, in other words cheaper.

Great location for the price
Spent six nights in New York attending Broadway shows. Hotel was in walking distance of all theatres and hundreds of restaurants. Room was a decent size, by New York standards, and had exceptional water pressure in the bathroom. Room was clean and servicable, but no view. However, I was not expecting a view for the price. Hallway carpets were a little worn, but other than that a very nice place. I would definitely stay here again.
