Temperature

The rooms are not separately controlled with the heat/air conditioner. Our room was unbearably hot. We almost had to sleep with the door open to the hall.

FIRST VISIT TO NEW YORK

The hotel was recommended to me by a friend who had enjoyed her stay. I was happy to be guided by her. The hotel is excellently situated for tourists with Times Square and Central Park within minutes walking distance. The hotel's staff couldn't do enough to make our stay comfortable and welcoming. I would happily recommend The Wellington to any visitor

Great location

I enjoyed my stay in New York which was made all the better for this hotels great location, from my bed I could see the lights of Times square yet just a few minutes walk from Central park. Subway stations outside the door and deli's all around the hotel giving a great choice of breakfast at varying prices. If you can't afford a 5star hotel then this type of hotel is just for you, could not complain about anything.

perfectly located for the price!

This hotel was right in the middle of the heart of NY. Walking distance to Central Park, theaters, any restaurant of your choosing and of course shopping! The room was a good size, very clean, adequate size bathroom and many hangers in the closets! Couldn't ask for better for the price!

Great location

I went for recruiting events. The hotel location is within walking distance from the companies. Subway is next to the hotel. Lots of restaurants, shopping and cafe shops around as well. The room is small but decent and clean enough.

Good New York Location

The location was by far the best part. There hotel was nice but nothing incredibly special. The staff was nice but like everything in new york it was expensive and they charge for all the little things. Try to stay in the part of the hotel already renovated because the elevators can't handle the capacity on the older side of the hotel.

Great Trip!

The hotel was awesome! I took a trip with my teenage daughter for a week and we had a blast. The hotel is in a great location! We were able to walk to Times Square, Central Park, Rockefeller and more in about 10 minutes! The staff was friendly and helpful! We were also very surprised to see that we were upgraded to a suite because we had never been in NYC! I plan to make another trip soon, and I will definitely stay here again.

"Great location,great service"

The Wellington was a great location with a subway entrance on the West 55th Street side of the hotel. The rooms were small and the woodwork wasn't in good shape but it was fairly clean. It would have been great to have a king size bed and a refrigerator for the same price. There is a Starbucks and a Dehli across the. street, which was very handy. The Wellington is four blocks from Central Park and close to shopping on 5th Avenue and also close to the David Letterman Show. If you like Jazz try The 55 Bar in the West Village at 55 Christopher St., it was a fun way to spend the night. Stop in at the Financier Patisserie in the Financial District on Pearl Street for great coffee and amazing cakes and confections. Our trip to New York City was amazing and staying at the Wellington helped make it great.
