Radiating history from its walls, the Wellington Hotel New York?built in 1901?stands apart from the fast pace of modern city life surrounding it. The plush lobby is decked out in rich tones and intricate murals, while focal chandeliers give the interiors a classical ambience.  If you are here on business, the hotel?s central location and 24-hour business center will cater to your every need. Midtown Manhattan is full of excellent restaurants; gourmets would do well to try the Wellington?s delicious plates of Greek mezze at the Molyvos restaurant, or the Park Cafe's informal all-day dining options.

Good location!

Since our flight arrived several hours before check-in, the hotel staff made it easy for us to explore the area by keeping our bags for us, They also kept our bags until 730PM on our day of departure since we had a late flight. We were in walking distance to Time Square, Central Park, Rockefeller Center. I would definately go to the Wellington again. It's an older hotel, but we spent very little time in our room. Had no complaints about the room..friendly staff.

Great location, not much else

My wife and I were traveling with our two adult children. We got adjoining rooms. They were ridiculously cramped, even by NYC standards. Housekeeping OK, but rooms felt like they were dirty with deep grit. Do NOT eat at coffee shop in hotel; I lived in NYC for 12 years and have NEVER been treated as rudely. There are many better options within a block or two. On the plus side, it was a decent value since it provided a place to sleep in an excellent location. Five stars for location.

Unplanned New Year's in New York

The staff was friendly and the location was excellent (two blocks from Central Park, several blocks from Times Square, you can see the New Year's ball drop from across the street), but the hotel rooms look run down.

Wellington Hotel

The hotel was conveniently located 2 blocks from Central Park and close to Broadway.A Metro station was very close, great deli's nearby. The hotel was a little dated, but the room was spacious. It could have used better lighting and the bathroom needed to be updated. One drawback was the heat there were no controls in the room and it was quite warm. Overall I would go back there again.

Great Location, Average Everything Else

I've wanted to try the hotel for quite awhile; however, I knew it didn't have all of the amendities, such as a workout facility, that I need when I stay more than a few days. Thus, our recent two-day trip was just right for this hotel. The location is very near Central Park, great restaurants, and a short walk to the theaters. The noise from the street was not a problem; however, our air conditioner was quite loud (at least it was working). Dirt and layers of soap scum in the bathroom make me believe they do not do any thorough cleaning between guests. In addition, the carpet and bedding is in desparate need of replacement--very worn and musty. For the amount of time we spent in the hotel itself (literally just to sleep) the price and location made it worthwhile. When I go back next--for a few days or longer--I wouldn't pick this hotel unless I hear that they have invested in a major upgrade (refurbishing, painting, and deep cleaning). Most other hotels in the area have--time to make an investment in the property. It would be a wise move.

The good, bad, and ugly

Hotel's location was very good, and the staff was excellent. However, room was very small and old. Nothing was impressive. Also, hotel had not bar or like amenity, and there was a constant stream of tour members crowding the halls/elevators.

Hotel Wellington

The online DEAL did not ask whether we needed 1 or 2 beds nor which size...our bed was very small, a double perhaps...the room was tiny...we could have upgraded but it was too expensive....we basically stayed out most of the day and fortunately the weather was beautiful!
