fun in the big apple but..........

Check in was very good, they even offered a free upgrade without my asking. Room was nice size considering it was new york times square area. Just stay away from room 310. when we got to room, i had to put the grill infront of heating system, the problem began when we went to bed, heater started hissing loadly, clicking away, fan kept running wild. kept us up all night

Wellington Hotel

Initial room given to us was small and very warm . It had a leaking shower. Housekeeping responded promptly after contacting the front desk. They were very courteous and changed our room to a much larger one with more amentities. The staff were very nice. They did not provide a machine for room coffee or tea; they did not have a continental breakfast. They did not have dourtesy evening beverage station. The personel were very nice

Unbeatable location, average property

This was our first trip as tourists and we wanted to see the major attractions and minimize travel time. The location was perfect, walking distance to Times Square, right at a metro stop, lots of restaurants. Older property, slow elevators but accessible stairs. Rooms pretty quiet given the location, fairly well maintained and of average comfort. Beds were doubles, not queen size. The microwave and fridge in deluxe room are great amenities for longer stays. Had trouble adjusting the heat and not all the window shades closed. Still, a good value if comfort and location are important. If you're seeking luxury, look elsewhere.

Great location, okay hotel

Right near times square and central park. Was perfect for what I was looking for. Hotel seemed expensive for small room and low amenities, but I guess that is NYC.

Perfect location

The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel was older and the room was small but in decent shape for the age. The location couldn't have been better and I would recommend it to others or stay in it again because of the price and location.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

Get a map that shows you where everything is. You can easy plan to walk to those locations you can and take short cab rides to those you can't. Cabs were not expensive. Also take the subway to lower Manhattan (ground zero, financial district) is fairly easy and inexpensive but look for the right "lettered" train.
