Radiating history from its walls, the Wellington Hotel New York?built in 1901?stands apart from the fast pace of modern city life surrounding it. The plush lobby is decked out in rich tones and intricate murals, while focal chandeliers give the interiors a classical ambience.  If you are here on business, the hotel?s central location and 24-hour business center will cater to your every need. Midtown Manhattan is full of excellent restaurants; gourmets would do well to try the Wellington?s delicious plates of Greek mezze at the Molyvos restaurant, or the Park Cafe's informal all-day dining options.

Great location!

Great location- we were able to walk to Times Square & Broadway or get right on the subway. Pricing was reasonable and when we arrived we learned they upgraded us to a king from standard! Definitely would stay there again!

Great bang for your bucks

I liked the Wellington and would stay there again. Friendly and reliable staff. Great location. Only negative is there is no gym. But no problem because I got plenty of exercise walking around Manhattan.

Fun girls getaway

Loved the location of the Wellington! Attending GMA's Friday Concert in the Park to see The Wanted motivated this trip. We were able to walk to the Central Park location at 5:00 AM and had a great time. Museum of Modern Art was only a block away from hotel which allowed us to rest a little before dinner and Broadway show (all in one day). We were upgraded to a Suite which was very clean and comfortable. Made us feel like we had our own apartment. Last day we were able to check our bags at hotel and see yet another show - half price this time. We were very pleased with The Wellington and would stay there again.

Best Location in New York City

While the room we stayed in was VERY small, we got used to it after a while. The bathroom was tiny, with literally barely enough room to turn around. There was no bathtub, and there was not much place to place toiletries, make-up, etc. The room was clean, though definitely not fancy or extravagant by any means. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and the daily maid service was excellent. The very best attribute of this hotel is its location. It is right near a subway stop, and is 5 blocks from Central Park and about 6-8 blocks from Times Square and Broadway, which you can see from the hotel. You are right in the middle of everything without all the hectic bustle of Times Square. There are dozens of good restaurants around, whether you want a sit-down meal or a quick slice of pizza. This is a very pretty, historical hotel with a nice lobby and a top 10 restaurant (Molyvos)attached. There is an ATM and a Starbucks right across the street. When it comes to location, this hotel definitely is the best. I would definitely stay there again.

great location

The best thing about the hotel was the location. It is an old hotel but well kept. the room was small but had most amenities expected. In New York, you do not stay in the hotel much, so it was perfect for our vacation.

great location

The location was perfect to walk to Times Square, Central Park and the Broadway shows. The water pressure in the shower was explosive, but the temperature changed from icy cold to scalding hot very frequently without warning, making it very uncomfortable to use! I'd stay there again, only for the location.
