Shopping trip
Had a few problems with the Hotel, when we returned to our room on the Thursday there was a Gentleman "painting" and grouting in the bedrooms/ bathroom all our personal belonging were taken out of the wardrobe and placed on the beds I was livid the hotel changed our room but wasted time for us. The staff at Reception are not very helpful and it takes a long time for anything to be resolved. They just need to have a bit more customer support then it would be fine. I have stayed there before and had no problems.

Location was great...only
Everything about this hotel, except its excellent Midtown Manhattan location, felt universally ordinary, and sub-par considering its setting and the price. Not only was there a fee for WiFi, but the room was small, the closet was small, the bathroom was small (with hardly any shelf space and a glass cup wrapped in paper - barely a step up from a motor lodge). There were food crumbs in the crevices of the chair and along the floor boards above the carpet, which made the whole cleanliness of the hotel feel below effort.

Short walk from hotel
Just a 10-15 minute to the heart of Times Square and the Theater District, so this felt just far enough away from those crowds to be a bit of a refuge from the throngs of tourists.

Excellent central location
The hotel cafe was a little basic but the staff were very friendly and the food was good. The location of the hotel was excellent, minutes from Central Park and Fifth Avenue, and a short walk from Times Square. Our room was large and comfortable, with plenty of drawer and closet space. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room would have been good, but I don't know if this is standard in American hotel rooms.

Perfect Price, and location
Extremely helpful staff, Fantastic location, after reading others reviews, i was a bit anxious, well, all unnecessary, ... for a start how long do u stay in a hotel for long anyway? It was great value, for what you get, the location in 7th ave, is just right few blocks away from central park and ten from times square. The subway is right outside the front door. Will definatley book this hotel again and recommend it to anyone any a tight budget, or for a hotel in a good location.

A mixed review
Location perfect for walking into midtown Manhattan for shops and Central Park. Room very small, tired and dated but perfect as a base for a couple of nights sleep which is what we had paid for. Plenty of hot water and clean towels provided on a daily basis. Due to hurricaine Sandy, flights got cancelled and hotel were not particularly helpful or empathetic when we requested to extend our stay. We totally understood that everyone was in the same boat, but that 'typical' american customer service just wasn't there when we were told that they weren't taking any other reservations, despite that all airports were closed and so nobody could either leave or arrive into NYC and we were already their customers............overall, a bit over rated but they thrive on their location.

Short walk from hotel
The hop on / off city tour bus services are a lifesaver and very good value for money. 54$ per person allowed you to use the buses as many times as you liked over a 3 day period. It was a great way to navigate yourself around the major sights and shops without having to walk too far or missing sights by using the Subways. There was a guide on each bus who commentated as you drove along. We learnt something new on every trip!

Birthday Getaway
Well considering it was a good deal compared to other hotels in NYC i can't complain too much!! Took my girlfriend for her birthday, and was immediately disappointed with the room itself in as much as it was very small and very dated, however when in NYC you are rarely in your room and it was very clean and was attended to every day by staff. The location is superb, only a few blocks south of Central Park, two streets east of 5th Av and only a 10min stroll into Times Square.

Definitely use the subway and hop on hop off buses to get around manahttan, else your feet will literally kill you and ruin your holiday experience. The subway is cheap buy one metrocard for $20 and you can all use it $2.25 per ride per person and then top it up if you need to. Just be careful not to get on an 'express' sub make sure it is a 'local' or you will end up in the Bronx as we did!!

Good Place, Great Value
I booked for a single, but luckily got a suite with a single bed room and lounge area plus a kitchenette for the same price. The Room and Bathrrom was clean, comfortable. Internet in the room is unfortunately not complementary, nor was business center. The staff were alright, but perhaps I was expecting a bit more from a prestigious looking hotel.
