Best trip I've made in NY yet!
The staff will be unforgettable!! I was so impressed by their help with absolutely everything! The entrance was beautiful! The rooms were relatively small but just fine for my boyfriend and I. Nice bathroom and a flat screen tv on the wall that was a bit small but when your in NY you won't be worried about a tv! When it came to luggage, the staff was very kind to let us leave it at the hotel before we were able to check in and after our last night, we left it there as well for a couple hours, VERY SWEET! Overall, for the price it is well worth it! Close to Time Square & a great Pub on the corner of the street! I would recommend for the younger couples that want to save money and go out more than stay in the hotel. ITS THE BEST!

Mr. guy that stayed there
Not to bad but little things
Well just a couple of things.... First the room is very small When i was reading reviews before i went i thought it couldnt be that small but man no joke. No little fridge nor a microwave at all so being there a few days and wanting to have a snack without leaving either in bad weather or middle of the night is out of the question. The room its self yes was very very clean but the pillows they have plan out sucked. Bring your own!! Last is location thats a deff 10+ on the scale like a block and a half away from times square and right near the broadway shows just mins to walk and see the city. Dont know if myself would stay there just cause of the little flaws there were but the price thats paid they should afford a bit more on the amenities.....

one of the smallest rooms ive ever stayed in on a NYC trip, but VERY clean
the hotel is ideally placed if you want to do all the touristy stuff and the room i was in was very clean, but it was so small i was almost afraid to have a proper full arm stretch in case i punch through to the next room (only joking). The bed was also way too high off the ground for my taste, and i had a bit of a rickety back, until i readjusted my own sleep style, to deal with this. room service was minimal and no tea or coffee was available, but the cleaning staff were excellent as my room was spotless everyday. Valuewise it isnt the best, but if all you want is somewhere to put your head down for the night and is close to the main touristy spots - broadway, 5th, 6th, 7th aves and subways plus eateries galore- then you cant go too far wrong. there are better locations and better beds available a few blocks away, but demand and supply can make it hit or miss, so if youre at a loose end, go for WJ.

Nightlife tip:
Short walk from hotel
the house of brews is a great bar, and literally 10 steps as you leave to the left walking towards 8th avenue. 7th, 6th et al are also just 5 mins away on foot. There are a smorgasboard of sushi and other restaurants in the other direction, on 9th avenue, too, so you cant go wrong on that front.

Gem in the Heart of it All
I can not say enough about this hotel. The Washington Jefferson was a find. Personable service, extremely clean, and I am picky about cleanliness, great location. I would only mention that the mattress was quite soft and a little lumpy in case you are a person who likes a firm mattress. MIght be time to get some new thicker ones. I took other writers' suggestions and asked for a room in the back. It was very quiet. This is my new place to stay in NYC.

Perfect if you just want a place to sleep
Spent 5 nights at the Washington Jefferson hotel and will definitely stay there next time Read the reviews before we booked and all indicated that the rooms are small, which they are, but who stays in their room when you are in NYC! The rooms are clean and the hotel staff were very helpful. Since this is a small hotel we never had to wait for an elevator or deal with other inconviences like you do at the large hotels. Location is perfect you are right in the heart of it all,

Money-saving tip:

Buy a NY City Pass, it is well worth the money. We paid $160 for the pass and would have spent almost $300 on admissions to shows, museums, tours and attractions if we would not have had the pass.

Not Impressed
-Paid for a queen bed, they gave me a full size bed. -Found a used packet of lube in the cabinet draw...gross. -Standard room size is pitiful - room was 10x8, bed was 6x5, you do the math. -At least they had 'free' wireless
