W New York - Times Square

I've stayed at the W before in other cities and on this trip, I've decided it's too hip slick and cool for me...I don't want to have to try so hard to be 'all that' when I'm on vacation and want to relax and enjoy myself. Friday and Saturday night the music in the lounge and lobby was so loud that I literally had to rush to the elevator and get to my room, so I was not able to enjoy the atmosphere. The bathroom is a study of where form and function do not meet. Artfully fixtures bathrooms are not practical and the door did not even close all the way. I was sharing the room with a friend, and a little privacy in the rest room would have been nice.

While the staff were nice, and the room was clean with a comfortable bed, the room experience was uncomfortable, and too stark with poor placement of everything. They say it's chic, but I've stayed at other chic NYC hotels with more comfortable beds and better room amenities for less.

The Bad...Our room (deluxe double)...nothing deluxe about it! It was very average...nothing about it impressed me. It could have been a Holiday Inn or Days Inn room. :( The Good...Location is awesome...right in Times Square. The front desk staff (check in/check out) and bellmen were super nice!

Great hotel but was there for a business trip and had to pay for Internet...it's 2012 people.

the hotel was very nice no major complaints , but they really have to work on the door men .. I have had better greetings at a homeless shelter. I paid a lot of money to be ignored. other than that front desk staff very nice room clean and comfortable with that W style . overall the place to be.

While very modern & chic the decor made the place cold! The experience was unfulfilling. It needs more of a homely environment. If you're going with friends just too hang out but definitely not the place to relax or get cozy with your spouse/significant other. O and there is no tub! Definitely a deal breaker.

The W Times Square was a nice enough hotel. The bed, which at first seemed luxurious, was actually really uncomfortable. Lots of construction noise during our stay. And when I got my bill, they tried to charge me $60 to park a car I didn't have (plus tax) and $9.14 for their "Munchie Bar", which I didn't use (plus tax). They did eventually take care of those mistaken charges, but I'm not sure why they would have added them in the first place. Check your bill... It felt like they were trying to pull a fast one on me, hoping I didn't notice. Also, this is the first time I've stayed in a hotel in years that didn't have coffee in the room. To me, a 4-star hotel should at least have coffee.

This hotel is fabulous! Our view was just perfect! We faced the front of the building, just high enough to clear the building next door. You can definitely hear outside noise, but it's exactly as we expected since the hotel since directly in Times Square. Being in Times Square, it was easy to access taxis, subways, get around on foot, etc. This was a perfect location and when we return, I will definitely be staying here again. We didnt use any of the amenities, however we did check out the business room (very normal/average) and we checked out the gym. It was quite small but had the basic equipment of a hotel gym. We also stayed in the hotel one night (Saturday) and enjoyed DJ Uch in the W Living Room. That was a great time and met some interesting people. All other nights we were in NY, we were out late but the W being in this perfect location made it great to return to in the late evenings.

The staff at the W were great and the location cannot be beat. Easy to get to TimesSquare, easy to get to subways.

The hotel was ideal for our plans to spend a weekend in the Times Square area. The lobby area was very attractive and a nice place to hang out. The rooms and views were wonderful. The shower was a little different being opened to the rest of the bathroom. We would certainly return.
