Disappointing NYC trip
The room was VERY SMALL - the A.C did not work and the maintenance man ad to come anf fix it (It was sweltering) and the heating system was next to the bed and it was HOT and SUFFY - and the hallway smelled of TOBACCO SMOKE - it was DARK and I requested more light TWICE and none was brought by the second day at check out.

New York visit
This was my first time ever coming to New York. I decided to stay at the W. The decor of the hotel is very nice. The bar and the lounge was active during the day and night. The room was very nice, but it was a bit cramped. I didn't stay in there much, but it did the job.

the staff did not know what is going on in the hotel
when i checked in they gave me a room on the 10th floor, i went to put my luggage in the room, it was still occupied and the lady who was still in the room got scared. went to the front desk and told them about the incident, they told me they could not check me then, but finally she gave me a room on the 5th. floor, which was smaller than the one on the 10th floor, and did not enjoy my stay.

Just ok
Overall the hotel was clean and the location is great for shopping and dining. 3 blocks from Saks and 5th avenue. The room was extremely small. I know it's New York but this is by far the smallest hotel that I've seen. Bathroom was very tiny and for short people the mirror is too high to look in. Maybe other rooms are nicer but ours was extremely small.

Stylish, hip, convenient, friendly ...
The hotel is great for people who want to be midtown. It's hip, the rooms are stylish, small, but comfortable. The staff is not the warmest, but they're attentive and efficient. There are a lot of couples here ... and it's a beautiful, well-dressed crowd. If you want to be closer to downtown, stay at the W in Union Square. My favorite W in NYC is still the Court: More intimate space. The lobby here is grand and large .... but not as cozy.

Worked for Me
I enjoyed the W hotel very much. The staff was very helpful and knowledgable. The room was comfortable but small and suited my needs. My only concern was the lighting in the room. I had to go into the bathroom to read my map. I loved the location and the 51st subway station was close by. I would definitely stay there again when in NYC. Room service was tastey also.

I Love New York
Love the location.
The location is perfect. A few blocks from the major tourist hot spots. A 24-hour drug store one block away that sells fresh fruit, beer, wine, etc. Plus good restaurants on this street.

Excellent Midtown Manhattan Stay
The W never disappoints. I got a great rate for a Friday night stay and I could not have been more pleased with the room and service. The only downside was coffee in the lobby was not complimentary.. and no bottled water in the hotel room. Strange that hotels still do not make this mandatory. Aside from this, A+!
