Midtown Manhattan hotel close to the Jacob K Javits Convention Centre
The Travel Inn Hotel is located in midtown Manhattan close to the Jacob K Javits Convention Center which hosts many trade shows and conventions. The contemporary décor gives the hotel a sophisticated ambience. The hotel has a free garage, a swimming pool, a fitness center and tour desk to assist guests in booking tickets. The hotel was built in 1963 and has retained its sense of charm with rooms that have the feel of a more genteel past. noise
room window was next to street and you can hear lots of noise it was hard to sleep, should get difrent room on other side of hotel and there was no aircondition

Convenience and value
Clean, convenient to the Lincoln Tunnel and Midtown, quiet, free parking + helpful staff = GREAT VALUE. The Travel Inn not the Ritz, and doesn't pretend to be. It was a great value for a midtown hotel, thank you for a good night's sleep!

It is ok and cheaper than many hotels in Manhattan
My first time at this hotel. It did not start very well. The weather was aweful and I ended walking from the Port Authority subway station in the wrong direction. When I went to the room assigned there were clothes in the room obviously it was occupied. The mamager quickly gave me another room. I need to take 2 elevators one to the third floor, walk past the swimming pool and go up another elevator to the 5th floor. The room was spacious and clean. Nice flat screen TV. Wish the channel selections was broader than it was. Small bathroom and decent shower. I did find out later that night that the train tracks are near by. There were a few rumbles but not all that annoying. I did see that they have free parking. Now that can be worth up to $50 a night in Manhattan. I think 3 stars in the right rating. I do think I would have had a better NY experience in the warmer dryer weather.

This was not the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. It was a great location just a few blocks from the Javits convention center and other good locations. Half a block from the best pizza in NYC. But the room looked like it hadn't been updated (other than the LCD TV) since the 1990's. Nothing fancy at all. And the bathroom was very, very dusty. Not great. But the price is right for what you get, so if price and location matter most, I think you'll find the Travel Inn adequate.

Very clean, good location
The hotel is only a few blocks from Times Square, great location. It has a pool which is rare for NYC. The pool area is clean and pretty. The rooms are dated, but very clean. But the bed, was hard as a rock, literally. They were installing new elevators, which caused a very long weight. Besides the bed being hard, I have no other complaints. Very nice, good location.

I flew into New York for a job interview. Luckily I wasn't new to the city because if I was I feel like I would have been lost, or taken aback about the hospitality of the staff. Only 2 people made me feel welcomed, the rest made me feel like I was wasting their time. I arrived early and my room wasn't ready, the only place I could sit was the small cramped hotel lobby, which charged me $5.00 to print one page!! Oh, and they don't have a business center or free Wifi, even McDonalds has free Wifi! Anyway I was there for 24 hours which was long enough. The only good thing about this hotel is it's location. And the few gems of friendly staff they have that work there.

This was surprisingly nice for the a great price. Walking distance to most othe places I needed to go to. Staff was friendly in helpful. Midwest price in NY was surpising! you won't regret your stay here.
