Great for couples

I liked everything about this hotel except the loud music in the lobby coming from the bar. Apparantly, this is part of the hotel branding but it made me go to another bar for a drink. The room was large, (huge by NYC hotel standards) and clean and all amenities excellent. This hotel is in an excellent location, near Grand Central Station and our room tthe had a view of the Chrysler Building, my favorite building in NY. The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful I hope to return.

Definitely not four stars

No room service, no coffee pot in room, elevator slow ( other one not functioning), electronic room keys malfunctioned multiple times, lobby noisy, breakfast buffet expensive ($4 for a paper cup of coffee), etc. The room was spacious but unattractive. Just not anywhere near 4 stars. I felt misled by that rating. Will not go back.

The Tuscany

The hotel decor and room size were excellent! The staff were anazing, helpful and very friendly. I will probably not stay there again because of the location and difficulty getting cabs. The cabs almost caused us to be late for theatre and dinners every night.

Great Hotel and Staff around Midtown

I researched many hotels in midtown area and ended up with this one based upon the reviews and the good price. The hotel staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. They held our bag the last day we were there. There are many restaurants in the area. I was upgraded to a larger studio and it was perfect and probably bigger than one could expect in NY. The bathrooms looked like they were redone recently. The closest subway was at Grand Central. That was the most difficult part to get use to - the subways don't get as close as I'd prefer (problem I found on East side) but very minor. I would highly recommend the hotel.

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

Got over to the High Line and walked on the elevated platform. Very interesting. Probably way better in warm weather (I was there in March when it was cold) Then stopped at Chelsea market for lunch (14th & 9th ave). Worked out great.

Great Stay

The hotel was wonderful. Upon my arrival I was greeted by the friendly staff and given a complimentary upgrade on my room. The hotel is under a full renovation so I understand that not all the ammenities were available such as the hotel restaurant, but that was not an issue and the staff were happy to point us toward some local restaurants. The room was much larger than I expected, very new, clean, and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again!

4 Star still under construction

Positives: 1. Free wi-fi 2. Spacious Rooms and bathroom 3. easy neighborhood to navigate right near Grand Central Station and some great bagel places 4. Friendly, smiling staff 5. wee tastes of hot apple cider upon check-in Negatives. 1. felt a bit like a construction zone 2. Room had paint splatters on floors in all areas --felt unfinished and was biggest disappointment; I'm sure this will be fixed in time. 3. No mirror in bathroom 4. Light switches everywhere too linked to one another, have fun figuring them out 5. fee for complimentary breakfast 6. no extra cots available

Amazing, luxurious king suite

Pleasantly surprised to find a great deal for the newly renovated St Giles - Tuscany. Conveniently located near Grand Central Terminal, but away from all the noise and madness. Arrived at the hotel only to find that they had upgraded me from a single to king suite. Made a world of a difference. Never stayed overnight in the city at such a huge, open space as Tuscany. Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. I intend to stay here for the future. I highly recommend St Giles - Tuscany to anyone who is planning on stay overnight in New York City, whether you are with family, traveling on business or out for leisure.

First time guest

The stay was great! Lovely, unusually large room; comfortable bed and linens; REALLY soft, fluffy towels. Stylish design, with flexible lighting. (You really can believe the photos on the website.) Excellent bathroom fixtures. HOT water! Free wi-fi. Good location within easy walking distance to major midtown locations. Good restaurants less than a block away, plus a deli/grocery. Very friendly and accommodating staff. I really have no complaints, and I have traveled a great deal. Highly recommended. Good value!

If you like Indian food, check out the Nirvana restaurant -- right around the corner from the hotel on Park. Good food, extensive menu, substantial portions, reasonable prices, capable/attentive (but not intrusive) service, in white tablecloth setting. What's not to like?
