More Like In The Street Than On The Street
You'll will hear jackhammers at 7am and subways rumbling under this hotel all day long in this shoebox. For the same outrageous price, you can stay at a much quieter M*ondrian around the block. Wish I did.

The Op
Noisy & Overpriced
When I checked in, the staff neglected to say that a jack hammer from a road construction crew would be waking everyone up at 7am. When I called the desk that morning to move to a quieter, back room, there was nothing they could do - not even reduce my room rate which at $500/night I expect a little more than indifference. For the same rate, you can stay in SoHo luxury around the block at the M-o-n-d-r-i-a-n - this travel review does not allow brand names so had to hyphenate.

Nice spot in Soho
This hotel was a really good deal for its location. The area around it seemed safe, and it is within easy walking distance of all the shopping and restaurants Soho has to offer.

This is a small well modernised hotel in an interesting part of Manhattan. The staff were very helpful and pleasant, the room was very clean, typically New York small but the bathroon was well designed to fit the space. No bar or lounge but next door is Parigot, a bistro style French eatery with a small bar and a good attitude.

convenient location, priced a little too high
The room is small and expensive, but the location is convenient. For wifi, the hotel services book in the room is out-dated, you need to call the front desk... could use an update.

LOCATION, LOCATION
It was my birthday and i had to go to 2 events in that area therefore i decided to rent a hotel. I stayed there for one night, or 6 hrs all together; i checked in around 11pm left at 12:30 got back to the room at about 430am and had to check out by 12 pm, even though i checked in late. I called around 9am to see if we could have stayed a little longer to get my moneys worth and the receptionist abruptly said "NO, you Have to check out at 12!" I though she could have been a little more receptive to my needs or come up with an alternate solution. I work in the Customer Service field, that's what i would've done...If it weren't for her, i would have given this hotel 5 stars. But all in all, the location was perfect for what i had to do and the bed was very comfy. The room was really small but cozy/romantic. One thing that annoyed me was the fact that there wasn't a toilet cover!! My makeup almost fell in there twice! lol.

Comfy, friendly & good value
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff were very friendly and gave us some helpful travel tips. The room was clean, comfortable and actually a little bigger than I expected. The bathroom had a great shower and was also of a good size. This place isn't filled with mod cons but is more than adequate for a city break and much better value than a lot of alternatives I looked into. We would definitely go back.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
L'Ecole, the restaurant of the French Culinary Institute, on the corner of Grand St & Broadway. Excellent food and wine for a very reasonable (By NY standards)price.
