Nice City Break

I have nothing really bad to say about my stay at The OUT, the hotel is lovely and the staff were attentive. Stayed in a deluxe double room. My only gripe was the 'mood' music playing outside my room, not having a kettle and no real wardrobe so we had to live out of our suitcases. But saying that, it is stil a nice place to stay and I would book again.

Ceilo in the Meatpacking District on a Monday night if you like house music and being around a local crowd is a lot of fun. And do Brunch on Sunday in Harlem!

Fantastic for everyone!

All the staff were so helpful, personable and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble and together they provided a 'safe base' to explore the city from, with such a warm 'homecoming' at the end of exhausting but fascinating days out! Not only that, all the staff we came in contact with seemed to genuinely enjoy being there too, which added to our enjoyment! Also, the local art work being exhibited was a delight! Creative and inspiring, added to the whole atmosphere, great idea and long may it continue!!

Turn right out of the hotel and the Greek restaurant across the road is real value for money. Authentic food and retsina, with great service in an intimate, friendly atmosphere - not to be missed!

Unusual Option in NYC

This ultramodern design on just two stories is unusual. Rooms were large by NYC standards, internet was excellent, and the restaurant upscale and pleasant. The courtyard furniture is funky and quite a change from the typical NYC hotel. The only downside is the theater district type of characters when walking to Times Square, but that is NY. But the hotel experience is quite refreshing for those who stay in NYC often.

Decent stay, but a little off.

I stayed here because it is where my friend recommended her wedding guests to stay. The room was a nice size, and very modern looking. The bed was so comfortable that I thought I was sleeping on a cloud. The shower head was difficult to adjust and I found the water wasn't warm enough. They had shampoo, but no conditioner, and there was no coffee in the room (sometimes 9am is too early to get dressed to go downstairs and have coffee). The place was very clean and the staff was very cooperative. The only other thing was sound: club music at 4am from the upper club level: not always a good thing.

Maybe 3rd time's the charm?

My partner and I have stayed at The OUT NYC back in Dec. '12 and had such a great experience. I wish I could say the same for our recent trip in March '13. 1. We had to wait a long time to check in. Only one person on the desk, and he kept answering the phones rather than helping the people checking in. We were given the wrong room number and had to go back downstairs and wait for the right room number. 2. We requested to have a room away from XL Night club - which is attached to the hotel. Last time we faced the street and couldn't hear a thing. This time it was horrible. We had to turn the heater on full blast to help drown out the sound. 3. They won't call you a gypsy cab or even a regular cab. They will have someone help you call a cab, but in our experience the guy called the cab - we tipped him but then the cab wouldn't take us to where we wanted to go because he was off schedule. So the bell hop wouldn't help us get another cab and took our tip anyway. That's just rude. 4. Kitchn - the restaurant attached, would not serve us breakfast at 11am - even though the buffet was still out. We got there right at 11 and were sat, but then told we had to leave. I get that we were late, so it's not a huge issue, but I thought it was strange that they sat us and then told us no. That's just really rude. I love the rooms and the location, so it's a toss up for me. I'm not sure I'll give them another chance, it's very pricey and when there's so many options in NYC I would rather stay where there is better customer service.

Gem in NYC

A very unique, ultra modern, and memorable hotel. There are wonderful courtyards to relax, and admire the tall buildings around this low level building. The staff were courteous and helpful, the restaurant served a continental buffet or a well prepared breakfast, and the room and hotel were immaculate. A definite find in a city with lots of options.

Near the theater district. That is both good and bad. But there were convenience stores and pharmacy right next door.

Much needed Vacation!

After some health issues, My teen daughter and I needed a major vacation getaway so we decided New York was the place to go. We loved the ultra modern look of The OUT NYC and had heard nothing but great reviews so we booked it. I emailed management requesting a quiet room to relax and be away from noise (nightclub) but with a view. We received exactly that! They saw to it that we were comfortable and had whatever we needed. The special bath products were so relaxing and refreshing, and there was always hot water from the shower. We never had time to enjoy the spa amenities because we were too busy enjoying the city, but when we arrived from the tiring long day, the room was always spotless and I wanted to bring the bed home with me. It was the most comfortable bed I ever slept in. Kenny and Erin, another staff member and Orlando were Amazing and so friendly! They had luggage storage so we could enjoy the city until our departure and even had a taxi ready for us and waiting to take us to the airport. If this was a place to live instead of a hotel, I'd definitely live there in a heartbeat! THANK YOU OUT NYC!

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

Subway, two blocks away. Cruise tours on the Hudson River, two blocks away. There are plenty of Starbucks, and Times Square is only a couple of blocks away. *Cop shop and medical emergency center next door and across the street. Felt totally safe!

Fantastic location

The hotel was clean and new. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were comfortable but a little too small, there was no where to sit except the bed. also, it was quite noisy on the Sunday night, we could hear the music from the disco in our room. But the location was perfect! We could walk nearly everywhere and the hotel is two blocks away from a subway station. For the price we paid, this was a good value.

If you want the west side, this is your place

Uber-modern place with spacious room, especially for NYC. Comfy bed and pillows and big television, free wi-fi (thought not a strong enough signal). Terrific location for this trip. Only two concerns, really: 1) no security officer on duty, and the room key is not required to get on the elevator, and 2) avoid the $19 continental breakfast buffet - not worth it. Otherwise, we'll definitely return to this hotel.

Great oasis in the city

Very comfortable beds, room clean and neat, bathroom had mildew in the shower just a little. The staff was great and amenities were well kept. The TV/Cable went in and out but then was fixed. They said I used the mini bar and I don't drink??? They did't charge me! I think this hotel is a little overpriced at the regular rates but all of NYC is that way. I would try to stay there again in a room far away from the club like I had. The price was so good. I would stay again if I could get that good a deal again!

Time-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

If it is cold or bad weather you can walk through Port authority bldg. on 9th ave to get to the subway. Also a food Emporium is across the street. I ate Breakfast at the Ktchn and it was good & reasonable .
