The Mark is housed, as it has always been, in the beautiful, 1927 landmark building at the corner of 77th Street and Madison Avenue. But, inside, the Mark has been completely re imagined, and given new life and identity for the 21st century. Newly reborn, The Mark combines old-world comfort, avant-garde design, up-to-the-minute technologies and an unprecedented level of personal service to create the finest five-star hotel of the 21st century. Drawing on the expertise of an extraordinary group of talents - foremost among them the designer Jacques Grange and the hotel general manager Olivier Lordonnois - The Mark Hotel is now a beacon of high French style, and modern American technology and comfort. The delights of The Mark are both bold and discreet. The graphic lobby is colorful and convivial, studded with unique objects d'art that surprise and intrigue. Situated on one of the Upper East Side's best blocks, The Mark is surrounded by New York's premier museums, shops, restaurants and the splendor of Central Park, The Mark may not only surround you in luxury and style, it places you at the epicenter of Manhattan's social and cultural riches.

Great NYC visit

From the time we checked in until we left the service and hospitality were wonderful. Location is exceptional unless you would like a more crowded like midtown. Room size was relatively good compared to other 5 star hotels. Room service was excellent. The bath towels were not stiff or boiled, I had a conference at Harrahs in New Orleans after our stay that is a boiled towel with mediocre at best room service but was also 1/4 the price. For us as former NY residents this filled our needs and there is a wonderful Ristorante Sant Ambroeus around the corner on Madison less than 1 minute from the room that has great pastries, breakfast and expresso that is a treat with a European feel as many speak multiple languages as you wait for your order.

Fantastic hotel in awesome location

Beautifully appointed rooms, spacious, lots of storage space, bright and airy. Free internet. Nice electronic blackout blinds. Very stylish public areas. Staff really friendly in an authentic way. Location just a block from Central Park is outstanding, plus in Upper East Side it's away from the tourism hubbub, but still good restaurants and shopping nearby. It is a few blocks to a Starbucks though!

nice, butt...

The room was very comfortable and well appointed, the staff was very nice and helpful. Overall our room was very clean, we did have a few exceptions that were quickly taken care of by the staff. But still for a five star hotel I would of thought better. I thought the room was a bit pricey for what it was. And the hotel location was on a nice quiet street, but for me it was a hike to get to the attractions we wanted to see in NY, but that's not the hotels fault. And for a five star hotel I would of thought they would offer sound machines for guests at night (like most NY hotels do), but they did not and the bellman offered to go get one for me, but I would have to buy it... Overall the hotel is a nice, comfotable, boutique hotel, but for what it was and the cost of the room I don't know that I would stay there again.
