Great cost, good location, nice room
The hotel was perfectly fine. The room was a good size (I got bumped up to a queen). It had a desk, a bed, a TV (I didn't use) and a bathroom for a low price in the middle of Manhattan. The one thing I would have liked (that they didn't have) was free wi-fi. They charged $20/day for wifi in the room.

The tour was great. Part of the reason I purchased this tour was to have the free transportation for my stay. That was a mistake. If you hop on to catch a ride to Macys, for example, it'll take you 1.5 hours to get there because you are on a tour. Tour was good.

Perfect NYC Local
Loved it. An older hotel, like many in the city, but the local was perfection. As a homebase to explore the city, it could not be better for the value. We were upgraded from a petite to a queen room upon arrival which was great for my 6'4" frame. The room was still small, but fine for just sleeping in, which is all we did there. But the best part was the 48th and Lex local. I could enjoy a nice run to the park by going west on 48th and then up 5th Ave past St. Patrick's Cathedral. Lots of great eating nearby. Highly recommend Aper Tivo for dinner nearby and Brassiere is close by for fine dining.. Easy to get to a MTA station, Rock Center, etc, etc.....You can spend more, but why when you want to enjoy the city and not the hotel lobby.

GOOD LOCATION
GENERALLY THE HOTEL WAS GOOD BUT THE LIGHTING IN THE BEDROOM WAS POOR WITH NO MAIN LIGHT IN THE ROOM. IN THE MORNING IT WAS TOO DARK IN THE ROOM. ALSO THERE WERE NO TEA/COFFEE FACILITIES AVAILABLE IN THE ROOM. SHAMPOO IN BATHROOM LEFT HAIR VERY GREASY, SO A BETTER SHAMPOO SHOULD BE SUPPLIED.

It was okay
It was okay, but I did not get maid service at all during the trip. Also, when dining in their restauarant, they automatically add a service (tip) amount.

Best quality for the cost
If there's such a thing as a mid-range room in Manhattan, this is it. It's not one of those bedroom with a door and a shared bath down the hall, nor is it anything resembling luxury. But it's clean, in the sweet spot with its price point, and in a fantastic location. If you're traveling solo and only need a place to crash you can go more spartan, if you're looking for a room to enjoy in itself spend the extra couple hundred a night; if you want a comfortable bed with a private bath and that's all, this is your place.
