Good location, easy walking to 5th Av. Clean room only one thing is the heater's noise. Good stuff, nice experience.

good place to stay in midtown. very easy to get around from this location. staff were professional.

I had a fine experience at this hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful. My room was on a quiet side of bldg so i had no traffic noise. I did not try the bar or breakfast downstairs so can't comment on them. If you want a coffee maker in your room you have to ask for it. There is an Equinox gym a few blocks away, and a breakfast place that serves gluten free pancakes on 41st or 42. I think the best part of this hotel is the proximity to Grand Cental and the subways and I really liked the comfy bed.

The St. Giles Hotel is in a great location. It provided a comfortable room and helpful staff. I was able to enjoy my time in Manhattan, and know I had a clean and comfy room to sleep each night.

I made the booking in the last minute, and was prepared for anything, but wanted good value for my money but wasn't prepared to pay a 'normal' New York price. I wanted a hotel in that particular area since the friends I was meeting were up Lexington Ave. I didn't know what to expect, and for the price I paid I must say I was positively surprised once I got into the lobby and my room - the scaffolding on the outside made me think I'd made a mistake... Beautiful view from my 16th floor corner room, a generous bed, clean bathroom and a homely feeling. The reception staff was friendly and nice design details in bot the room and common areas. I can warmly recommend this hotel!

The hotel is neither bad nor good, is OK! It takes few minutes walk to time square which isn't bad.

The hotel is a W. Euro-chic - which I appreciate. The Saturday night scene was out of control. Wild party across the hallway - screaming until the wee small hours with no hotel security response. Could be heard anywhere on the floor.

You will not want to stay here if you are a regular W or Starwood patron. It is WAY below W Standards...most all the time the operaters were irritatingly inconvenienced by calls...The TV didn't work properly and the carpeting was not good. The suite did seem a little bigger than most Manhattan hotel rooms... this would be an ok place to stay only if you get it on sale in the $175.00 range. A patron I saw on the elevator was leaving the hotel immediately after seeing his room which he described as hideaous. I was most unhappy with how rude the staff downstairs was. Don't expect to ever see the doormen at night. You surely would be dissappointed if you pay the regular W rates.

It took about an hour to get checked in because they had no record of my reservation and they had to go through orbitz's automated system on the phone in front of me instead of just reading the email confirmation and putting me into a room while they took care of the administrative side on their own. When I got to my room the carpeting was bunched up in certain areas and made for a tripping hazard because it wasn't stretched properly during installation. Additionally one of the two elevators was broken which made the wait time for the other a lot longer and they had no internet, but things like that happen and its hard to blame them for general maintenance issues when I've only been there for one weekend. The hotel's location was great and I didn't have any other problems. I wasn't around the hotel much so I never checked out any ammenities such as a pool or a gym, it seemed like the type of place that would have a nice one of each though.
