Christmas Season

My family arrived on December 28. I am from NY and lived in NYC for 11 years. The location of the hotel is great, it is a residential area and it is not very crowded. The hotel is very close to Grand Central station and a close walk to midtown west. The hotel itself was not great. We had a junior executive suite for 3 of us. There was no door separating the bedroom from the living room. The king bed was very hard and the mattress on the pull out couch was very thin, so my daughter slept on the day bed in the room. There were wires sticking out of the heater in the bathroom and the heater in the bedroom was very loud. The reason I would stay here is for the location and the price point.

Stay in the Lobby ....

The staff was great! And the lobby was nice -- but that's were the good ends .... The rooms were dirty, hot and stuffy. There was no way to regulate the heat without using the air conditioner or window. This made the rooms VERY noisy -- requiring ear plugs to sleep.

Great stay

I had a very nice stay at the W. The room was quiet and very comfortable, and the staff was quite friendly and courteous, which I really appreciated. The one downside was that the hotel appeared to have a nice lounge, but it wasn't open often, which seemed odd. I was particularly surprised it was closed just before dinner, as it would have been a fun place to get a drink before going out.
