Nice location, staff, and price
Very nice staff. On arrival, they upgraded us to a suite at no extra charge. Very helpful with directions, storing bags, calling cabs, etc. Nicely located about 2 blocks from Grand Central. Room was nice - not great - but comfortable. Bar in the lobby was hopping at night, we never got the chance to go but we will next time. Overall, this will the first place I look next time I stay in NYC

Very Happy with the location,
Very Happy with the location, room was great, bed very comfortable , with good quality linen. Bathroom was a bit old, but all worked perfectly. Staff was very efficient. The Hotel not having a restaurant was a small inconvenience, but it's new York so eating at the hotel is not compulsory.

I stayed in St Giles only one
I stayed in St Giles only one night, for my first visit in New York City. The reception offered a luggage storage while we were waiting for the check-in (at 3 pm). The room was furnished with care (nice lamps, frames, a comfy chaise longue), with a mini-bar and some snacks. In the closet (not very big) an iron and ironing board. The bathroom was pretty big and nicely old-fashioned. The bed was really comfortable. A big disadvantage: the lack of a free internet service. There is a wi-fi area in the loung for free, but in the room only wired connection on deman is available. The location was great, just walking distance from the main attractions in Manhattan. The breakfast was not included, and we had it outside of the hotel, so no information can be given about that. I would definitely recommend a stay here, given also a couple of nice bars accessible from the lounge.

the good the bad and the ugly
the location is great. the furniture in our roon looked like second hand furniture.one night stand had a big cig.burn. the toilet was a flush with your foot type.the bar opened late about 8;00 P.M. The room was clean and neat.was there a restaurant there we don't know. no information.

Good Location, Very nice staff, Room was very, very small Even on the 12th floor, the noise was a problem. For such a small hotel, the dark decor was almost depressing. I know it is the W trademark, but it doesn't work for the W court in NYC.

Dad Done Selecting Hotels on Internet
Stay in the Lobby ....
The staff was great! And the lobby was nice -- but that's were the good ends .... The rooms were dirty, hot and stuffy. There was no way to regulate the heat without using the air conditioner or window. This made the rooms VERY noisy -- requiring ear plugs to sleep.

Pleasant room - oout of control partying
The hotel is a W. Euro-chic - which I appreciate. The Saturday night scene was out of control. Wild party across the hallway - screaming until the wee small hours with no hotel security response. Could be heard anywhere on the floor.
