Met the need
Smyth Tribecca is a good option as a step down from some of the higher rated hotels. The price met the need but try need to work on taking the service to the next level. The hotel felt more like a well serviced condo building with upgraded amenities like having a mini bar and maid service. Biggest issue was the room service. Don't bother - just go out and get brunch at somewhere fabulous like The Smith (by another name).

Loud lane
Fun place
The staff were great. The location very good. I wasn't fond of the shower in the room. Lighting in bathroom was horrible. But hotel is beautiful and I will definitely stay there again.

The Dutch
good hotel but you need to fit in
The hotel has a great location and is very well maintianed, the rooms are clean. As we are definitely not longer part of the young and beautiful I sensed that the hotel staff felt we were out of place in this hotel we got a room in not such a great location (2nd floor on the corner) that was quite noisy I am sure that there were better rooms available that thay wanted to keep their clients.

If you are in the area have dinner at Marc Forgione, the food is delicious, the service is great and they have an excellent wine selection especially the selection of Spanish red wines.

Perfect relaxation
I had a smoking room which did not smell of smokers at all. I pulled up a chair near window which opened a few inches and it left no lingering smoky smell in room. The bed was superb and the room lovely and quiet. The service was excellent and the overall experience over two nights top drawer. I will stay again - the room was a good size too as was the bathroom. The apartment I am now staying in uptown from the hotel is not nearly as good. I wish I had stayed on.

NYC best stay ever
I don't think I ca stay at any other hotel but the smyth TriBeCa so clean so modern best location best bed and best services ever will forever be my permanent stay whenever in the city!

good for the young at heart.
Hotel has nice amenities, good service, but very noisy if you stay on the first three floors, as the disco is going all hours of the night. Noisy young otel dwellers, who didn't seem to care if you wanted to sleep or not. Also, shower stream was a little light compared to most others. But location, and overall styling of the hotel was very good and served our purposes nicely.
