This was amazing!!!

The Room was so unique and the atmosphere of the hotel was wonderful. The staff was amazingly helpful. I had a basic room and it was small but who goes to NYC to stay in their room. It was perfect, clean, and the value was amazing. The best deal I have ever scored in my life and I will definitely be a returning customer.

Great location for Broadway weekend!

Although we walked past the front door twice before finding it, the hotel was a great spot - easy walking distance to Times Square and the Theatre district. The lobby had gas fires burning, adding 'cool' ambiance, although it was extremely dark. The room was clean and contemporary. Even though we left it until 6PM, the concierge on Saturday night was able to secure us a reservation at a nice Italian restaurant right on 44th atb 6:15PM which got us in and out in time for our 8PM theater performance. Would stay again.

NYC treat

The hotel was extremely convenient. They were filming a movie down the street with Robin Williams and the Sunday before we left there was a parade outside.Lots of fun.The staff friendly, but not overly accommodating. The rooms were clean and comfortable but hard to regulate temperature.Sleeping was a little too warm. Over all very pleased.

Really unusual and stylish hotel - like something you would get in a Batman Gotham-stylee film!

We chose this hotel for our honeymoon in Manhattan. We chose it for location and because it looked pretty unique and stylish. The hotel itself is very dimly lit - we thought it wouldn't look out of place in a Batman film - and that's a good thing. The interior design is beautiful. The signage is very minimalistic but you don't need to be a rocket scientist to work out where reception and the lifts are. The receptionist could have been a bit friendlier - there was no chat. It would have been nice to tell them we were on our honeymoon. Saying that, we had no problems checking in and out. We chose a Queen standard room with the Roman tub and we very impressed with the facilities, although the room was small - it was all we needed. The added use of an iPad was very useful indeed. We booked tickets for attractions in advance and got directions etc. The room and the bath were immaculate and extremely clean, and tidied beautifully each day. If I had any criticisms, it would be the prices of the items in the fridge and drawers were extortionate! We didn't bother using any of it. I would have preferred if there wasn't so much stuff in there. The fridge was jam-packed with items we didn't want to buy so had no room for our own things like water etc. My husband is also a Type 1 diabetic and there was barely enough room to store his insulin. We had to take the other stuff out, which, in a small room, made the place look a bit cluttered. I would also have preferred to have the drawers clear and not full of stuff the hotel wanted me to buy. There is only one small wardrobe and one deep drawer - not really enough space for a couple. It might be an idea to show the stuff on sale on the iPad, so the guest can use the storage provided for their own stuff. Our room barely had a view also - it looked onto the back of the building with the fire escape. Very little daylight got through. Until we got out of the hotel, we couldn't tell what the weather was like. With hindsight, this was probably a good thing because it was nice and quiet. If the staff member had actually chatted with us and realised we were on our honeymoon, they might have asked if we wanted to change our room to one with a better view, or upgrade? Location-wise, this hotel is perfect. It's walking distance to Times Square, the Empire State Building, the Chrysler building, Grand Central and Central Park. As the hotel's restaurant is a bit expensive, it's handy to know that there is a good variety of restaurants nearby, and there is a lovely place for breakfast just across the road. We would definitely return to the Royalton and would recommend it to others.

There are hotels in Times Square, but honestly - I would recommend you stay here instead. It's literally a five minute walk away and much, much quieter!

Relaxing Atmosphere a stones throw from Times Square

It was our first time back in New York in 14 years and we decided to stay at The Royalton mainly due to its location. However, we got much more than that. It seemed to goal of every staff member in the Hotel was to make our stay as relaxing as possible. We loved it and when we go back, this is where we will stay. We were able to saunter up to Times Square whenever we wanted and sit having a coffee in the middle of the mahem. We were able to walk to the theater and take in Sister Act (great show). All in all, we had a great trip. The Royalton was a big part of that.

Very cool hotel

The doormen greeted us with a smile, and joked that there was a $20 cover charge to get in - which fooled me for a second because I thought maybe I was at the wrong location - the entrance seemed like it could be a nightclub. The loungey vibe and the dim lighting continued the nightclub feel inside. Indie, who checked us in, could not have been more pleasant. Our room was super sweet. I love that there were candles in the room and in the bathroom. The shower was amazing - both the design, the fixtures, and the water pressure! Being that it is only a couple blocks from Times Square, I was surprised that the room was as quiet as it was. Overall, one of the coolest hotels I've ever visited.
